Lauren and Rick then both share some of their experiences and conversations during early voting.

Rick references a CNN article about how some people are voting more because they hate the opposing party than because they love their own party.

He then transitions into talking about the need for change to happen locally and personally so that change at a deeper and larger level can also start to happen. Rick says you have to play the long game, but you have to start at the individual level before real change can happen. But, Rick cautions, we have to remember that it's God not us Who holds the nation in His hands.

Rick references an interaction between John Piper and Wayne Grudem as an example of a great and Biblical way to politically disagree. He also brings up Utah's candidates who released a joint public service announcement about unity.

Rick and Lauren spend time talking about a New York Times article that shows how we can treat each other with resentment, anger, and distrust because of our political views, but Jesus calls us to love our neighbors no matter what.
