The Rest of God: Restoring Your Soul by Restoring Sabbath

During this time of Safer At Home, many plans and vacations have had to be canceled. Rick and Lauren start the episode by sharing how their canceled plans have affected them personally, both in the past two months, and in their lives overall.

Rick then transitions into talking about how he considers making plans an act of worship. While Lauren says she's never heard anyone call planning an act of worship, she announces that she resonates with that because of how much she loves planning and how important that is to her. Rick references Mark Buchanan's book The Rest of God as a tool to help us deal with interrupted plans.

Lauren begins a conversation about stewardship versus ownership in planning. She puts this into perspective by talking about big decisions she and her husband Tommy have made in regards to their children's schooling. Rick conveys that if you're really walking with the Lord and listening to the wisdom of your trusted friends and family, then whatever decision you make will be the right one, and the Lord will be with you whatever you decide to do.

Rick and Lauren wrap up this episode by talking about the parable of the talents.
