Right at the start, Rick and Lauren discuss how they first began thinking of doing a podcast together, through their relationship growing as Lauren began to engage Rick in conversation through questions she had. Lauren adds that she knows people enjoy Rick's ideas and opinions, and she was excited to let people in on their unique conversations.
Rick then jumps to encouraging people to see the bigger story, since this is something Jesus did all the time, telling His disciples about the Kingdom. Lauren voices that these conversations that she and Rick and their guests will have may be hard, but it's so important to have them. She also adds that these conversations are important because being vulnerable is how people connect and grow with you. Rick agrees, and expresses that you have to be aware of what's appropriate and when to share, but still encourages people to be vulnerable in their conversations. He references Susan Scott's book 'Fierce Conversations' as a good tool for people.
Rick and Lauren assure listeners that they know these conversations they will have won't fix people, and they're not trying to do that; they're simply trying to engage people in conversation and allow God to work in people's lives.
