What are an almond paste and its usage?
Almond paste is a baking ingredient in cookies, cakes, tarts, and other desserts. It consists of almonds, sugar, binding or thickening agents such as corn syrup or glucose, and a natural flavoring agent, usually almond extract.
Can you eat raw almond paste?
Almond paste is perfect for filling cookies, cakes, tarts, and other desserts. It pairs particularly well with chocolate and certain fruits; you can cook it or leave it raw, depending on the recipe.
How long can I keep the almond paste in the fridge?
Storing: Freshly made almond paste can be stored in the fridge for up to 10 days so long as it is wrapped tightly in plastic. Freezing: You can freeze almond paste if wrapped tightly in plastic and sealed in an airtight container. It will last approximately six months.
