Prominent experts are weighing in on President Tsai Ing-wen’s first year in office. ICRT News anchors Keith Menconi and Gavin Phipps hosted an hour-long discussion held at the Grand Hyatt Taipei featuring former Minister of the Interior Dr. Lee Hong-yuan (李鴻源), former head of the American Institute in Taiwan Dr. William Stanton, and former Legislator Dr. Shen Fu-hsiung (沈富雄). Throughout the sometimes heated discussion, commentators sparred over major issues hanging over the Tsai administration, including cross-strait ties, the 40-hour workweek, and the forward-looking infrastructure construction project. Here’s Dr. Stanton’s take on that issue, and others: Providing a different perspective, Dr. Lee called the preparation for the infrastructure project rushed and unprofessional. The entire program will be broadcast tonight at 8 PM exclusively on ICRT FM100. It will also be available for download on ICRT’s website, iTunes or on the ICRT app.
