There are bisex­u­als EVERY­WHERE!! We are a proud and sur­pris­ing­ly large pro­por­tion of the queer com­mu­ni­ty. There are a num­ber of bisex­u­al pub­lic fig­ures who go rel­a­tive­ly unno­ticed by the media ‑par­tic­u­lar­ly if they are in so-called ​‘straight-pass­ing’ rela­tion­ships- or unfair­ly have their iden­ti­ties erased and writ­ten over as ​‘gay’. But guess what? There is more and more aware­ness that it is not uncom­mon to love more than one gen­der; though bisex­u­al aware­ness osten­si­bly refers to only those who iden­ti­fy that way in par­tic­u­lar, I take this occa­sion to cel­e­brate all iden­ti­ties that love 2+ gen­ders because there is such a diverse and amaz­ing com­mu­ni­ty. If you are out there, clos­et­ed or open, with or with­out a spe­cif­ic label you pre­fer, I am so glad you are part of our com­mu­ni­ty and I think you’re great!
