The episode features a conversation with LSIC alum Alfred Carry about the value of mooting and the reasons why he served as a LSIC pro bono attorney for the case, Jean Baptiste Bado v. United States. Carry argued the case before the DC Court of Appeals in June. The question it examined is whether a noncitizen is constitutionally entitled to a jury trial for a misdemeanor offense that results in deportation and other consequences if convicted. He participated in the Criminal Division Clinic while he was a student at Catholic University of America, Columbus School of Law in 2010.
