Intro.

Good morning, fellow appreneurs! This is Vasily from Messapps and today we are continuing our last week’s episode and talking about Visual App Store Optimization.

News.

But first let’s discuss some interesting transportation news from the last week.

Apple hints at building their first car.

If you’re looking for hints that Apple might deliver on its long-rumored plan to develop its own car, a significant one landed this week after it emerged that Doug Field — Apple’s former VP of Mac hardware engineering — has rejoined from the company after a spell with Tesla .
With Apple being a tech company that already launched CarPlay it makes all the sense in the world to move into transportation. Will the headphone jack and a charger be sold separate – we’ll wait to find out.

UberAIR takes flight

After three months of discussions, Uber Elevate has selected The University of Texas at Austin as its partner alongside the U.S. Army Research Laboratory to develop new rotor technology for vehicles that the company will use in its uberAIR flying taxi network.
It became known that for the vehicle, Uber is requiring a fully electric vertical take-off and landing vehicle that has a cruising speed of 150 to 200 miles per hour; a cruising altitude of 1,000 to 2,000 feet; and a range of up to 60 miles for a single charge.

Concept.

Last time we spoke about Textual App Store Optimization and today we’ll go into Visual App Store Optimization.

With Visual App Store Optimization we focus on three things:

App icon
App screenshots
App Preview Video

With app icon you want to make sure two things: your app icon is relevant to the main goal of your app and it is sufficiently different from your competitors. For this reason, you don’t want to create another checkmark icon if you are building a todo list app.

Here is a paradox about screenshots. Though the people usually look at screenshots because they don’t want to ready the text in the description unless you add text to your screenshots people might feel lost. So make sure you use each screenshot to give a reason to download your app and make sure that this is reason is highlighted
