Hello everyone! My name is Jessi Shook and this podcast talks about the importance of pronouncing names correctly, especially those ethnic names of our ELL students and POC. As a future elementary school teacher myself I feel that it is super important for your students to feel welcomed and valued at school, which they won’t unless you start pronouncing their names the correct way! I will talk you through the negative feelings your students will feel if you mispronounce their name, and even give you a few tips on how to ask for help on pronouncing their names appropriately! Thank you for listening!
