Joseph probably did not expect to be in a situation where Mary, the woman he was betrothed to was pregnant with a child that was not his. Just when he resolved to quietly call off the marriage, the angel of the Lord showed up in a dream to tell him otherwise. Joseph did as commanded despite having no way to verify if the baby was due to Mary’s indiscretion or God’s intervention. Yet he chose to respond in faithfulness and obedience, trusting and flowing with God’s plan.
