Born in Portugal to Cape  Verdean immigrant parents, DJ Guelas would find himself in the United States of America in his late teens pioneering the promotion of Kizomba and African Music while attending to attend school.

Guided by his brother Paulo Flor and other Lusophone this European emigrant, put his arms around his African Cabo Verdean Heritage, and decided to share KIZOMBA the one thing that he missed mostly from Lisbon.

Now a successful promoter, and founding member of the popular Miami Beach Kizomba Festival (MBKF), DJ Guelas sits down with Gil Ingles of Diaspora Central for a brief talk about his entertainment journey,  and his ambition to continue promoting African culture.
