From a psychological perspective, manipulation can be defined as the deliberate and skillful use of tactics and strategies to influence or control others for personal gain or to achieve specific outcomes. It involves subtly shaping or directing someone's thoughts, emotions, or behaviors in a way that serves the manipulator's interests, often without the other person's full awareness or consent.

While there may be innate tendencies or predispositions that can contribute to manipulative behavior, it's not to say that everyone is hardwired to manipulate.

However, it is true that manipulation is a common phenomenon in human interactions, and individuals can employ manipulative tactics to varying degrees.
Dr BB shares with her audience some of the more common  maladaptive manipulation tactics.
