In life sometimes things go wrong, and when that happens, humans tend to cast blame on their perceived cause of the misfortune.  Where they cast that blame can be related (in many cases) to a psychological concept known as locus of control.

Locus of control refers to an individual's belief about the underlying causes of events in their lives. It relates to the extent to which people attribute outcomes to internal or external  factors. The concept was developed by Dr Julian Rotter, an American psychologist in the 1950s.

There are two types of Locus of Control:

  1. Internal Locus of Control, and
  2. External Locus of Control.

Come join Dr BB to learn more about these two types of Locus of Control, and to find out how your beliefs and attitudes impact your life.
