Carla started her weight loss journey January 21st of 2020. This wasn't the first time she has lost weight. But this is the first time she has sustained the weight loss. In 11 months she has lost 150lbs and has a few pounds left to lose. Before losing weight, she had trouble turning in bed, putting on shoes, and walking. One important thing she had to do was "fix her head." She did this by talking about traumas and life with a therapist. She said this was a major key to her weight loss success. She enjoyed eating out and fried food. Now she views food as fuel and eats mostly vegan. She drinks coffee and water. She also does intermittent fasting 16:8 to reset her body as she had trouble distinguishing between the feeling of needing to eat versus wanting to eat. She started walking everyday and has walked longer and longer distances. This time around she is more positive and fully dedicated. A line I really like that she said was "what if you didn't quit this time." This is something everyone needs to remind themselves to lose weight. I also really like how she didn't tell anyone she was trying to lose weight until after losing 70lbs.  Last thing I like that she said was do not let weekend be the "week end." I want to thank Carla for taking the time to speak with me.
