Miracles were invented by the church because they could not logically explain symbolism and mythology as historical events. So in order to get believers to suspend logic and rational thinking they invented the idea of miracles. But the truth behind what became miracles is actually relevant today when you understand that Jesus is a personification of an ancient spiritual concept. As long as we marvel at the miracle we miss the true teachings.
