The data is starting to catch up to the shockwave that is the nomination of Vice President Harris.

One of the biggest problems Democrats faced this cycle was voter apathy towards Joe Biden. Fair or not, Americans wanted a new candidate and as Nikki Haley suggested back in the Republican Primary, the first party that gave them a new choice would have a big edge.

We had another election with “double haters.”

Now we only have single haters.

What most analysts and pundits opined could be merely a “Harris honeymoon” is translating now into what I expected we’d see the 48 hours after we saw high-profile Democrat after Democrat put their own ambitions aside to help the party coalesce around Harris: Harris will have the edge as we go into the fall.

The fundamentals that once favored Trump/Republicans have completely inverted to favor Democrats, and that shift is powered in big part by something very, very simple: you’ve got to give the people what they want.

So, instead of a redux of 2016’s “Everybody Sucks” election, voters have a young, fresh, exciting, joyful nominee who together with her panda bear-like VP pick Tim Walz are creating an environment on track to at least match the energy of the 2008 cycle.

Thus, I shall call Biden’s decision to pass the torch the Kamala Harris:

The Switch in Time That Saved….Well….Everything.

The forecast and polling aggregator streams have already crossed, they are heading to what I expect will end up as a 3 or 4 point polling advantage for Harris post-convention. Democrats could not be better positioned to see a convention bounce that has little chance to erode as the election season begins after Labor Day because Republicans held their nominating convention in July for some reason. In short, there is nothing that could blunt Harris’ momentum.

Even worse for Team Trump is their already mentally unstable boss has lost the one thing that always made him feel better: his rallies.

Now Donald is afraid to hold one because he doesn’t want another contrast showing his limp-dick turnout compared to Harris/Walz’s sold out events.

As these fundamentals become more obvious to everyone we should see Democrats move from a “protect” posture to a “gain” posture down ballot. Polling in states like Georgia and Arizona are narrowing and easier-to-win swing states are starting to show Harris with within-the-MOE leads.

The Trump campaign’s latest ad buy tells you everything you need to know about how much the fundamentals have shifted. Republicans have gone from ludicrous fantasies about winning NY to spending $23 million to shore up Georgia after The Devil went down there and spent an hour ranting about their popular governor Brian Kemp.

Like 2016 Trump is his own worse enemy. Unlike 2016, this time Democrats will not be theirs.
