It is a Tuesday edition of the podcast. As such, we want to dive into the Word and hopefully, provide some encouragement for the rest of the week as well as something to think about.

Okay…we are diving into some Old Testament truth and awesomeness today. Today’s episode is entitled,

“The Voice We Hear”

I Kings 19:11-13

I have to tell you…I love the Old Testament. If you hear anyone who says they don’t like the Old Testament…pray harder for them. What is not to like? You get a little of everything – war, intrigue, super-natural stuff, plagues, super heroes, normal guys and girls doing super things (well, super things with the Almighty at the helm) and super acts of faith. If you don’t like the OT, change your perspective. It’s awesome.

In our world of 24/7 everything, we certainly are not lacking in noise. It is constant…and loud. In spite of the decibel level, we hear and have voices that influence and guide us. We have unlimited access to a world of channels, apps, stations, podcasts, and people. The question then becomes: Which or what voice do you hear? Better yet, which do you want to hear?

A great story and historical account of God’s voice and a whisper comes from 1 Kings 19. If you get the chance to read the account of Elijah versus the prophets of Baal and Ashera on Mt Carmel in 1 Kings 18, do it. It’s awesome and so telling to how quickly we forget how awesome and powerful God is and how He always has our back.

The link mentioned at the end of the podcast. It is the greatest decision you will ever make.
