Calpurnia delivers a letter to Atticus during the trial. It was from Alexandra informing Atticus that the children were missing. Mr. Underwood informs Atticus that Scout and Jem are in the balcony watching the proceedings. Calpurnia scolds them, but they are in such good spirits as Atticus has given them permission to return to the courthouse after their supper, to hear the verdict.
