William Vincent Wallace was born in Waterford. Though he only spent a few short years there, he ended up in Australian with his entire family.  William was a gifted violinist and pianist. His  violin playing was compared with that of the great Paganini. He was a restless young man who travelled the world and performed in places as diverse as New Zeland, Peru, Jamaica, Mexico New Orleans, new York, London.
