With the blink of an eye our life here on earth can be over, and by the steady and gentle hand of God we will have eternal life in Heaven. One life is temporary, rapidly passing; the other life is forever in a time to come.
So why is it that I want to hold on to life on earth to the point of neglecting my preparation for eternal life in Heaven? Do I not know already that building up things that corrupt is futile? Building an earthly kingdom is like running thru the thick jungle in a moonless night. It is like running thru the desert in the middle of the day. It is simply a senseless and tragic exercise.
But You my Lord know my weakness and in your mercy You guide me. You show me that there is a better way, the right and only Way. You feed me with Your Word; You clothe me with the mantle of the Holy Spirit. You help me wake up to the reality of Your love; You help me wake up to the necessity of living my life for You. Thank you for Your love Jesus. Praise be to Your Holy Name. All honor and glory is yours forever and ever. Amen.
