Every story has a plot. The plot will generally include something like this: introduction, story development, conflict, climax, and resolution. The Bible, as a story - HIS story - also follows a plot line like this. And like any story, the best part of God's story is the climax. Everything else in the story points forward or backward to that defining moment. In the "crime drama" genre of film the climax comes when after mounting suspense and intrigue, the villain is revealed. The climax in God's story, the climax of HIStory is redemption. And even more specifically, the Cross.
Since the Fall God has been moving history toward redemption. The sin of Adam and Eve found immediate remedy in the covering that God gave them. But the ultimate remedy would not come until thousands of years later when Jesus the Messiah hung on the cross and spoke the words, "It is finished".
