Have you ever seen a photo mosaic? You may not realize it but you probably have. There are different ways to create a photo mosaic. One way is to carefully choose tiny pictures and arrange them in such a way that when you look at a grouping of the small photos they create one larger image. Up close you see one thing, but pull back and gain a different perspective and a completely different "picture" emerges.

The Bible is the same way. There is tremendous beauty and value in the individual verses, events, and lives we read about in the Bible. But there is also a unique value that we find in pulling back and looking at the Bible from a little further out. Like looking at a forest from the mountain top instead of the trail in the valley. Both are good, both are important. Both provide truth.

In HIStory chapter 1 we begin to examine the Bible as a grand story of God's redemptive plan for His creation. It's a story that began at Creation. It's a story that is captured in the pages of the Bible. And it's a story that we can either choose to be a part of or just live life unaware that God's story is still being written today.
