Walk On The Book of Ephesians, Week 26 “Prayer: Battle Coverage” Ephesians 6:18-20

In modern warfare and because of technology, at any point in the battle troops on the ground can summon “air support”. Within a matter of minutes, fighter jets can be on the scene with major artillery to put the enemy in its place. When it comes to the spiritual battle prayer is a lot like “air support”. The difference, as we’ll read, is that prayer should never be the last resort or the option taken only when all others are exhausted. It is prayer that connects the saint to the power for the battle. Power is important. And if prayer provides power, then why do so few saints really pray? Why do we often have prayer lives that follow the mantra: “Well we’ve done everything else we can do, I guess we’ll just pray.” Prayer, as Paul reveals in our text for this week, is not an afterthought, but a necessary part of being prepared for battle.

But before you intercede on their behalf begin your time each day in prayer like Jesus did: Recognizing who God is, Adoring Him as God, Submitting your life(day) to Him, Thank Him for His provision in every way, and ask the Spirit to reveal any sin and confess it to God and turn from it. Then present your request to God.
