In this episode, I chat with Mark Ormrod MBE - Royal Marine Veteran, Triple amputee, Invictus Games Gold Medallist, Husband and Father.
Born in Plymouth, he joined the Royal Marines and in the early hours of Christmas Eve in 2007 whilst on tour in Afghanistan, his knee hit and detonated an Improvised Explosive Device. From losing both of his legs and an arm, his life changed forever.
With facing severe adversity, this is just one example of where Mark has shown unbelievable mental strength and courage in his life. Despite being told he would never be able to walk again and would be wheelchair-bound, he not only walked again with prosthetics, but he went on to win Gold at the Invictus Games.
Mark is the definition of a hero. Not just because he fought for his country, but because he is living proof that life isn’t about what happens to you, but rather how you choose to react to it.
