IF YOU LIKE TOPICS ABOUT FINANCES, MONEY, AND INCOME, CHECK OUT THE POD AND BLOG AT: www.gameandcompute.comTalking to Uber Eats about Uber Pro Card (note: pro card has very high fees). I noticed once I came back to Uber Eats delivering, the Uber Pro Card automatically has funds deposited from my earnings without me promoting it at all. While the Uber Eats Pro card is free to get, free to add to your account, and free to have funds deposited on it for use, it is NOT FREE if you plan to transfer funds from Uber Pro Card to another account (Venmo, PayPal, debit or bank). It costs $2.99 while the previous payout to debit costs only $0.85 cents. I do not want to have multiple debit cards with bits of money here and there. I like all my income to go onto one single card, which is not the Uber Pro Card. So here I talk to the representative at Uber Eats by phone on Sunday morning 10/15/23. There is some hold time. But they explain what my options are. I can pause the card then push the payout to my preferred debit card on file. The thing is, this is not totally clear just looking at the app details. The app makes it seem as if it will only payout once per week. And I prefer daily payouts. I like to plan how much money I will make per day, and then I can allot those funds to where I prefer.

What it’s like to be LGBT in a religious household and environment (my own experiences and theories)
Mal and The Ultimatum and masc representation (how her presentation became controversial, how to expand the mind while consuming mainstream content)
Happy Stud/ Masc appreciation month September 2023! Check out the Stud Model Project. They have a $2.99 subscription. The feature is of model/artist @twitch_daize @studmodelproject https://www.instagram.com/p/Cw5oFiSpxzx/?igshid=MzRlODBiNWFlZA== What is a Stud? A Stud is usually a Masc presenting afab Black/African American person. Not always LGBTQ+ for the “masc”’ identity and traits, but to my knowledge, a “stud” is an LGBTQ+ masc afab person. Not all LGBTQ+ masc afab Black people identify as studs. Some might identify as the classic term “tomboy.” Others might identify as “stem” and embrace their femme sides as well. There are so many ways to identify, these are just a few! There are also gender non conforming people, non binary people, gender queer people… etc etc. The controversy usually arises as people differentiate between “butch” and “stud.” I’ve noticed some Latinx people identify as studs or being identified as such. The term “stud” appears to be more of a cultural representation of afab masculinity where Caucasian/ White non minority ethnicities are often referred to as “butch” and not as a “stud.” There was a lot of controversy in 2022 on social media platforms as lgbt content was on the ride and more and more people were coming out and embracing themselves proudly! On tik tok and ig were many controversial conversations to discourage Caucasian/White masc afab people from using the term “stud” to identify themselves. Why? Stud culture is different from Caucasian/White masc afab culture. Embracing different racial experiences, hair styles, lingo, accessories, clothing fits and types of clothing, etc. I understand this still may remain a controversial topic. And it is VERY often that Black culture once it becomes an interest in the mainstream, people who are not ethnic minorities want to embrace it as “cool” or trendy and people enjoy the aesthetics and culture behind it but without the experience of being fully treated as a Black stud, other ethnic groups (with some debate about how Latinx people fall into this category) the other ethnicities are encouraged to refrain from referring to themselves as such. I believe many Latinx people have overlapping shared experiences to the Black community. My intention is not to create a racial debate. Masc afab people are definitely also celebrated during this month of appreciation in September 2023! It is for us all! Masc is a much larger and less nuanced identity. The term “stud” embraces the Black experience of afab masculinity for those who choose to use that term. It separates out a subculture from the major large umbrella of “masc.” During this month we can talk much more about this.

Story Time: past religious social life, how dating looked back then, explaining social circles, my views on “coming out.” Nostalgia episode. Talking about my past social experiences in an ultra religious environment. And how I’ve currently come to terms with the safe spaces in some of the relationships I’ve maintained.
My Queer Dreams (poly interest) & a Story of a Guy Crush from the Past. I had almost forgotten that I’d had a crush on a guy a once met. It went super weird! Mind you I was still intermingling with this ultra religious church group. So crushes, dating, hangouts and interactions were quite odd. And I was often surrounded by a lot of people who were awkward about concepts such as dating, crushes, and basically anything that had to do with either homosexuality or sexuality in general.
Gay Virgins Part 2 (societal expectations, same-sex social rules). Continuing the convo (mostly because the other segment was too long). I’ve been quiet swamped with the exam and recovering and traveling. I DID pass the exam but I’m not the process of applying for jobs and also continuing to work on my other income streams.
APOLOGIES FOR THE LATE POST AS I WAS ONLY ABLE TO LOG ON TO THIS POD TODAY. AND I DID NOT ATTEMPT YESTERDAY DUE TO AN EVENT. More content to follow. It has been a very busy week last week with many things moving and shaking and shifting. A lot of getting out of my comfort zone, developing insights, travel, events and milestones. The next set of daily posts will reveal more details of my schedule, routines, and the lives experiences of the week in general. I hope you’ve all been enjoying these daily updates! I hope it’s helping to organize the content more clearly. I notice I tend to rant and get off topic about my day to day while recording different topics. This way I can talk about the day separately from the topic. There will still be a lot of blending in details, but that is just my style. Hope it has created a more enjoyable listening experience. I’m caffeinated and trying to use my energy to crank out some content. Please stay posted. This clip is not long at all. But there will be more along the way! A lot of time and energy is going into my research. And at the time of posting, I’ll be planning to attend an LGBTQ+ event tonight. So stay tuned for it all. And thanks for listening!

“Grooming” & Prejudice in Politics and Religion (trans and LGBTQ+ discrimination in policies).
My first San Diego roomie was a chill male a couple years older than me. He was a law student needing to take the bar. VERY minimal complaints with this experience but I describe my lifestyle back then. He had recently divorced from his wife and they had joined custody of a boy aged near 4-6 years old from the times I was involved with them. Other than some slight noise level issues from us having differing schedules, I didn’t have problems with his personality. We got along good but I became quite reclusive when I started having issues with my toxic intern supervisor. I became more isolated near that point.
A mini series about experiences living in each shared housing. As an LGBT QPOC person each place I’ve lived has led to experiences and themes affecting and impacting both positively and negatively other aspects of life success as career, education, physical and mental health. Here is the start of explaining some of those experiences. I feel I am quite experienced with living with others and perhaps some of what I mention can shed light for others. Especially in these economically changing times! Many people are downsizing and cutting expenses, and one change many are making is changing from living solo to sharing rent. Things to consider: your needs, your goals, your communication styles, areas where you’re more passive, areas where you get annoyed, and the qualities you bring to the table.

CHRISTOPHER: https://youtu.be/Dby6UMHm1Zg Actors Getting into Character: How to Create a Compelling PerformanceActing is a craft that requires more than just memorizing lines and hitting marks. To truly bring a character to life, actors must immerse themselves in their roles, understanding the motivations and emotions of their characters and embodying them on screen or stage. This process is known as "getting into character," and it is essential for creating a convincing and compelling performance. In this article, we will explore the techniques and methods that actors use to get into character, including research, observation, and improvisation. We will also discuss the challenges that actors face when trying to inhabit a character, and how they can overcome them to deliver a powerful performance. Research: The Foundation of Character CreationBefore an actor can truly get into character, they must first understand who that character is. This requires research, both about the character and the world they inhabit. For example, if an actor is playing a historical figure, they will need to research the time period, the political climate, and the social customs of the era. They may also need to study the subject's life, reading biographies or personal journals to gain insight into their personality and motivations.Similarly, if an actor is playing a fictional character, they will need to read the script and study the character's backstory, personality traits, and relationships with other characters. They may also need to research the genre of the work, such as the conventions of a specific genre like a superhero film or a romantic comedy, to understand the tone and style of the performance.Observation: Learning from Real-Life ExamplesObservation is another key tool that actors use to get into character. By observing real people, actors can gain insight into human behavior and emotions, which they can then use to inform their performances. This can involve watching documentaries or news footage to understand the behavior of people in specific situations. For example, if an actor is playing a police officer, they may observe real officers to understand their mannerisms, speech patterns, and body language.Actors may also observe people in their everyday lives to develop a more nuanced understanding of human behavior. They may pay attention to how people move, talk, and interact with one another, noting the subtle gestures and expressions that convey emotion. Improvisation: Finding the Character in the MomentImprovisation is a valuable technique for actors who want to get into character quickly and intuitively. By improvising, actors can explore different aspects of their character's personality and behavior, testing out different approaches and responses to different situations.Improvisation can also help actors stay present in the moment, allowing them to respond authentically to the other actors and the environment around them. This can create a sense of spontaneity and naturalness in the performance, which can be compelling for audiences. Challenges of Getting into CharacterGetting into character is not always easy. Actors may face a number of challenges that can make it difficult to fully inhabit their roles. One common challenge is staying true to the character's motivations and emotions, even when they conflict with the actor's own feelings or beliefs. For example, an actor playing a villain may find it difficult to identify with their character's cruel actions, even if they understand the character's motivations.

Are Algorithms Targeting the Trans Community? This is part of an idea around trans people being exposed. Not exposed as in “being caught for being wrong.” But exposed as in- being thrown out to the wolves, as victims. I might be very wrong in some of what I’m saying in this ep. But I am literally wondering and asking questions. I may have stumbled upon something weird. If my conspiracy theory is correct then that’s very worrisome. If it is wrong then I’m relieved. But I’m a bit on the look out and trying to keep my eyes open. To me the dots seemed to connect somehow.

SPOILER ALERT. Ultra orthodox religious Jewish series. Looking at some different cultures dynamics. Introduction“Shtisel” is a critically acclaimed Israeli television drama that depicts the everyday life of an ultra-Orthodox Jewish family living in Jerusalem. Created by Ori Elon and Yehonatan Indursky, the series first premiered on Yes Studios in June 2013, and it has since gained popularity in Israel and internationally. The show explores the struggles and triumphs of the Shtisel family, particularly Shulem Shtisel, a widowed father and patriarch of the family. The show is known for its authenticity, nuanced characters, and compelling storytelling. In this essay, we will explore the themes, characters, and impact of “Shtisel.”ThemesOne of the central themes of “Shtisel” is the tension between tradition and modernity. The ultra-Orthodox Jewish community in Jerusalem is known for its strict adherence to tradition and religious law, but many characters in the show are grappling with the challenges of living in a modern world. For example, Shulem Shtisel’s son, Akiva, is a talented artist who must navigate the expectations of his community, which views art as frivolous and potentially sinful. Akiva’s struggle to balance his artistic passion with his religious obligations is a central plotline in the show.Another theme that emerges in “Shtisel” is the importance of family and community. The Shtisel family is a tight-knit group that supports each other through the ups and downs of life. At the same time, the show also portrays the conflicts that arise within families and communities, particularly when there are differences in values or beliefs. For example, Shulem’s daughter, Giti, is married to a man who is emotionally distant and unfaithful, which creates tension within the family. Finally, “Shtisel” also explores the complexities of faith and spirituality. The characters in the show are deeply committed to their religious beliefs, but they also struggle with doubt, temptation, and the challenges of living a good life. The show portrays the tensions that arise when people are forced to confront their own flaws and weaknesses, as well as the ways in which faith can provide comfort and meaning in difficult times.Characters“Shtisel” is known for its complex and nuanced characters, each of whom is grappling with their own struggles and challenges. Shulem Shtisel, played by Dov Glickman, is the patriarch of the family and a respected teacher in the ultra-Orthodox community. He is a strict adherent to tradition and religious law, but he is also compassionate and understanding towards his family members. Shulem’s relationship with his son, Akiva, is one of the most compelling aspects of the show, as they struggle to find common ground despite their vastly different values and interests.Akiva Shtisel, played by Michael Aloni, is a talented artist who is struggling to reconcile his artistic passions with his religious obligations. He is often at odds with his father and other members of the community, who view art as frivolous and potentially sinful. Akiva’s relationships with his family members, particularly his cousin, Elisheva, and his love interest, Libbi, are some of the most heartwarming and poignant moments in the show.Giti Weiss, played by Neta Riskin, is Shulem’s daughter and a mother of four. She is married to Lippe, a man who is emotionally distant and unfaithful, which creates tension within the family. Giti’s struggle to maintain her faith and her commitment to her family despite her husband’s infidelity is one of the most poignant storylines in the show.Impact“Shtisel” has had a significant impact on Israeli and international audiences, particularly for its portrayal of ultra-Orthodox Jewish people.

[The below article was adapted from a Chat GPT ai 3000 word essay. I altered the language, but it was initially referring to masc dating of gay males in LGBTQ+ culture. In the podcast episode we primarily discuss masc for masc dating as it pertains to other genders (not excluding cis male gays, but primarily focusing on cis gay females dating other cis gay females). I would like to record more about non-binary genders, trans, intersex, and gender non-conforming people. The episode in the pod addresses topics other than gay cis males. I may record a separate episode regarding cis gay males].
Masc for masc dating is a term used in the LGBTQ+ community to describe a dating preference where people seek out partners who exhibit traditionally masculine traits. This preference is often seen as controversial and has been the subject of much debate in the LGBTQ+ community. In this essay, we will explore the history of masc for masc dating, the reasons why some people prefer masculine partners, and the potential harm caused by this dating preference.
The History of Masc for Masc Dating
The concept of masc for masc dating is not new, but it has gained more attention in recent years with the rise of dating apps like Grindr, HER, Just She, BiCupid, Tindr, Hinge and Scruff. These apps have made it easier for people to specify their dating preferences, including a preference for masculine partners.
Before the advent of dating apps, the LGBTQ+ people community had limited options for finding potential partners. Bars and clubs were the primary venues for meeting other LGBTQ+ people, but these environments were often unsafe and unwelcoming for those who did not conform to traditional gender norms. As a result, many LGBTQ+ people (in particular gay cisgender males) felt pressure to present themselves in a more masculine manner in order to fit in and attract partners. And lesbian cisgender females to present more femme. And other genders to present more conforming to societal norms.
This pressure to conform to traditional gender norms has persisted in the LGBTQ+ community. By seeking out partners who exhibit traditionally gender conforming traits, people may feel that they are conforming to societal expectations and avoiding negative stereotypes associated with non-conforming genders. Or even attempting to avoid ridicule and persecution.
Reasons for Masc for Masc Dating
There are a number of reasons why some people prefer masculine partners. One of the primary reasons is the belief that masculinity is attractive. Many people find traditionally biological masculine traits, such as muscularity, deep voices, and facial hair, to be desirable in a partner; or traits such as assertiveness, “taking charge,” and certain clothing styles (although yes, these traits can also be possessed by non-males, by androgynous people, and people of all genders, and this is not an exhaustive list).
Another reason for masc for masc dating is a desired sense for safety and security. In a society that is still largely hostile to LGBTQ+ individuals, some people may feel that having a masculine partner will provide them with a sense of protection. By presenting themselves as more traditionally masculine, people may feel that they are less likely to be targeted for discrimination or violence.
Additionally, some people may prefer masculine partners simply because they share similar interests and hobbies. Masculine people may be more likely to enjoy activities like sports, camping, and hiking, which can be important factors in building a strong relationship.

Flaking, or canceling plans at the last minute, is a common phenomenon in modern social life. It can be frustrating for the person who was looking forward to the event and disappointing for the person who has been flaked on. While there is no one-size-fits-all answer to why people flake in social plans, there are several reasons why this behavior has become increasingly prevalent in today's society. One of the primary reasons people flake in social plans is because of the changing nature of social relationships. In the past, people tended to have more stable, long-term social connections. They would form close friendships with people in their community or workplace and would make plans weeks or even months in advance. However, in today's society, people are more likely to have a large network of acquaintances and casual friends. With the rise of social media, it's easier than ever to connect with people and build a large number of superficial relationships. While this can be beneficial in some ways, it can also lead to a lack of commitment to social plans. When people have a lot of casual connections, they may not feel as obligated to follow through on plans because they don't have as strong of a connection to the other person.Another reason people flake in social plans is because of the increasing demand on our time. Today's society is fast-paced and demanding, with many people juggling work, family, and other responsibilities. This can lead to a sense of overwhelm, which can make it difficult to commit to social plans. When people are feeling stressed and overburdened, the idea of adding another commitment to their schedule can feel overwhelming. As a result, they may be more likely to cancel plans at the last minute to relieve some of the pressure they are feeling.Another factor that contributes to flaking in social plans is the ease with which we can communicate with others. With the rise of smartphones and social media, it's easier than ever to stay connected with friends and family. However, this constant connection can also lead to a sense of detachment. When people are constantly connected to others through their phones, they may feel less of a need to follow through on in-person social plans. Instead, they may feel like they can connect with others virtually and don't need to spend as much time face-to-face. Additionally, the constant notifications and distractions from our phones can make it difficult to focus on the present moment, which can make it more challenging to commit to social plans.Another reason people flake in social plans is because of the fear of missing out (FOMO). In today's society, people are constantly bombarded with social events and activities. This can create a sense of pressure to be involved in everything that's happening. However, when people try to do too much, they may end up overcommitting and feeling overwhelmed. As a result, they may cancel plans at the last minute to focus on something else that seems more important or exciting.Another factor that contributes to flaking in social plans is social anxiety. For some people, social situations can be incredibly stressful and anxiety-inducing. This can make it difficult to commit to social plans in the first place. Even if they agree to the plans initially, their anxiety may increase as the event approaches, making it more likely that they will cancel at the last minute. Additionally, people with social anxiety may feel guilty or embarrassed about canceling plans, which can make the problem even worse.Another reason people flake in social plans is because of the lack of consequences for doing so. In today's society, it's become increasingly acceptable to cancel plans at the last minute. People may not even expect others to follow through on commitments, which can make it easier to flake without feeling guilty or embarrassed.--- This episode is sponsored by · Anchor: The easiest way to make a podcast. https://anchor.fm/app

Day 26. Brené Brown is a researcher and professor who studies vulnerability, courage, shame, and empathy. She has written several books on the topic and is known for her TED Talks on vulnerability and shame. In her teachings, Brown emphasizes the importance of self-worth and the connection between self-worth and our sense of belonging. She argues that our sense of self-worth comes from our experiences of being seen, heard, and valued by others, and that a lack of self-worth can stem from feeling like we don't belong or that we're not enough.Brown also emphasizes the role of vulnerability in building self-worth. She argues that being vulnerable, or opening ourselves up to others, helps us to build authentic connections and to feel more connected to others, which in turn can increase our sense of self-worth.Furthermore, Brown suggests that self-compassion is a key component of developing self-worth. She suggests that being kind and gentle with ourselves, rather than criticizing or blaming ourselves, can help us to build a more positive sense of self-worth.Overall, in Brown's teachings, self-worth is seen as an integral part of our sense of belonging and our ability to connect with others in an authentic way. She argues that cultivating self-worth through vulnerability, self-compassion, and a sense of belonging can lead to greater happiness, resilience, and well-being.--- This episode is sponsored by · Anchor: The easiest way to make a podcast. https://anchor.fm/app
The Mental Health Fund (Link: https://www.instagram.com/p/CoDMH1zvg6-/?igshid=NTdlMDg3MTY=) and QTBIPOC (Queer, Trans, Black, Indigenous, People of Color) is an important topic in today's society. Mental health is an issue that affects individuals from all backgrounds and communities, but QTBIPOC communities face unique and systemic barriers when it comes to accessing quality mental health care. The Mental Health Fund was established to address the pressing need for mental health services and support in marginalized communities. It is designed to support organizations that provide mental health services and resources to QTBIPOC communities, and to raise awareness about the importance of mental health within these communities. The need for a Mental Health Fund is driven by a number of factors, including:Systemic barriers to mental health care: QTBIPOC individuals face significant barriers when it comes to accessing quality mental health care, including discrimination and stigma, lack of culturally-competent providers, and financial barriers. These systemic barriers often result in QTBIPOC communities receiving less mental health care than other communities, and the care they do receive is often of lower quality.Higher rates of mental illness: Studies have shown that QTBIPOC communities experience higher rates of mental illness than other communities, due in part to the cumulative effects of systemic discrimination, trauma, and other stressors.Lack of mental health resources: Many QTBIPOC communities have limited access to mental health resources, including mental health providers, support groups, and community-based programs. The Mental Health Fund aims to address these challenges by supporting organizations that provide mental health services and resources to QTBIPOC communities. The Fund provides grants and resources to organizations that serve QTBIPOC communities, with a focus on providing culturally-competent care that is accessible and affordable. The Fund also works to raise awareness about the importance of mental health in QTBIPOC communities, and to reduce the stigma associated with mental illness. Through public education and advocacy efforts, the Fund is working to create a more inclusive and supportive environment for QTBIPOC individuals who are seeking mental health care. The Mental Health Fund has a number of initiatives aimed at improving access to mental health care for QTBIPOC individuals, including:Provider training and support: The Fund provides training and resources to mental health providers, with a focus on culturally-competent care for QTBIPOC individuals. This includes training on how to provide care that is sensitive to the unique experiences and needs of QTBIPOC communities, and on how to reduce the stigma associated with mental illness.Community-based programs: The Fund supports community-based programs that provide mental health services and resources to QTBIPOC communities, including support groups, peer-led programs, and drop-in centers.Advocacy and policy change: The Fund is actively involved in advocacy and policy efforts aimed at improving access to mental health care for QTBIPOC communities. This includes advocating for policies that increase funding for mental health services, improve access to quality mental health care, and reduce the stigma associated with mental illness. The Mental Health Fund is an important step forward in addressing the significant mental health needs of QTBIPOC communities. By supporting organizations that provide mental health services and resources to QTBIPOC individuals, the Fund is helping to break down barriers to care and to create a more inclusive and supportive environment for those seeking mental health care. The Fund is just one part of a broader effort to improve access to mental health care for marginalized communities, and to address the systemic barriers--- This episode is sponsored by · Anchor: The easiest way to make a podcast. https://anchor.fm/app

Another key provision of the bill was the right of parents to participate in decisions about their children's education. Proponents of the bill argued that this would give parents a voice in important decisions about their children's future, and would help to ensure that their children received the best possible education. Critics, however, argued that this provision would undermine the authority of educators and would create confusion and chaos in the educational system. In addition to these objections, the "Parents Bill of Rights" was also criticized for being too vague and overly broad in its provisions. Critics argued that the bill was poorly drafted and that it would be difficult for educators to know exactly what they were required to do in order to comply with its provisions. They also argued that the bill would lead to a situation where parents would be constantly challenging decisions made by educators, which would undermine the educational process.Despite these objections, the bill continued to generate support among parents, who argued that it was necessary to protect their rights and to ensure that their children received the best possible education. They organized rallies, wrote letters to lawmakers, and engaged in other forms of advocacy to build support for the bill.In the end, the "Parents Bill of Rights" was narrowly passed by the North Carolina General Assembly, with lawmakers citing the need to protect the rights of parents and to ensure that their children received the best possible education. Despite its passage, the bill continues to be controversial, with educators and parents debating its provisions and their potential impact on the education system in North Carolina.Today, the "Parents Bill of Rights" remains a source of debate and controversy, with lawmakers and educators continuing to grapple with the question of how to balance the rights of parents with the need to maintain a high-quality education system. The controversy highlights the complex and highly charged debate over the role of parents in the educational process and the need to find a balance between protecting their rights and ensuring that children receive the best possible education.Overall, the "Parents Bill of Rights" controversy in North Carolina is a microcosm of the larger debate over the role of parents in education and the need to protect their rights. As the education system continues to evolve and new challenges emerge, the question of how to balance the rights.--- This episode is sponsored by · Anchor: The easiest way to make a podcast. https://anchor.fm/app

The demonetization of LGBTQ+ content refers to the removal of monetization options, such as ads or sponsorships, for content creators who produce or share content that includes topics or themes related to the LGBTQ+ community. This can have a significant impact on the creators, who may depend on these sources of income to support themselves and their content production. There are a variety of reasons why content related to the LGBTQ+ community may be demonetized. One reason is that some advertisers or sponsors may not want to be associated with certain topics, such as sexually explicit or explicit content. Additionally, some platforms may have policies in place that prohibit the monetization of certain types of content, such as adult content or content that promotes hate speech.Another reason for the demonetization of LGBTQ+ content is the conservative views and biases of the platforms and advertisers. Despite the growing support for LGBTQ+ rights and recognition, many individuals and organizations still hold conservative or discriminatory views toward the community. The sixth stage, known as the "intimacy versus isolation" stage, typically occurs during young adulthood (ages 18 to 40) and is characterized by a focus on forming intimate relationships with others.During this stage, individuals are faced with the task of developing close, meaningful relationships with others. They may seek out romantic partners and form deep connections with friends and family members. Those who are successful in this stage will develop a sense of intimacy and trust in others, leading to a sense of security and belonging. On the other hand, those who struggle during this stage may become isolated and disconnected from others. They may have difficulty forming close relationships or may have a fear of commitment. They may also struggle with feelings of loneliness and isolation, leading to a lack of fulfillment and satisfaction in their relationships.Erikson believed that the outcome of this stage is crucial for overall well-being and mental health. Individuals who are able to form close, intimate relationships will have a greater sense of self-worth and will be better equipped to handle the challenges of later stages of development. However, it is important to note that Erikson's theory is not prescriptive, meaning that not all individuals will go through each stage in the same way or at the same time. Some may struggle with intimacy during young adulthood and then successfully navigate the stage later in life, while others may never fully resolve the issues of isolation and disconnection.Furthermore, Erikson's theory also highlights the importance of social context. The society we live in and the cultural norms around us can shape our understanding of what is expected of us during this stage of development. For example, some cultures may place a greater emphasis on the importance of marriage and family, while others may place more value on individual autonomy and self-expression. These cultural expectations can affect the way we approach and experience the task of developing intimacy. In addition, it is important to note that the stage of intimacy vs isolation is not only related to romantic relationships but also to all forms of relationships, such as friendships, familial relationships and professional relationships. For example, one could be thriving in romantic relationships but struggling in building and maintaining friendships.Overall, the "intimacy versus isolation" stage of development is a crucial time for individuals as they work to form close, meaningful relationships with others. Success in this stage leads to a sense of security and belonging, while failure can lead to feelings of loneliness and isolation. Understanding and navigating this stage can be influenced by cultural norms and the social context in which we live. Visualization, also known as guided imagery or mental imagery, is a powerful tool that can be used in mindfulness practice to help focus the mind, reduce stress and anxiety, and improve overall well-being.When we visualize, we create mental images of specific scenes or experiences in our mind. These images can be real or imagined, and can be used for a variety of purposes. In mindfulness practice, visualization can be used to help bring awareness to the present moment, to create a sense of relaxation, or to help achieve specific goals. One of the main benefits of visualization in mindfulness is that it helps to focus the mind. When we are constantly bombarded with distractions and thoughts, it can be difficult to stay focused on the present moment. By using visualization, we can create a mental image that we can focus on, which can help to quiet the mind and bring us back to the present moment.Visualization can also be used to create a sense of relaxation and calm. This can be particularly helpful for those who experience high levels of stress or anxiety. By visualizing a peaceful scene, such as a beach or a forest, we can create a sense of serenity and tranquility in our minds. This can help to reduce feelings of stress and anxiety and improve overall well-being.Another benefit of visualization in mindfulness is that it can be used to achieve specific goals. For example, if you are trying to quit smoking, you can visualize yourself in a smoke-free environment, free from cravings and withdrawal symptoms. Or, if you are trying to improve your performance in a sport or other activity, you can visualize yourself successfully completing the task or reaching a specific goal.Visualization can be done at any time, and in any place. It does not require any special equipment or training. Simply close your eyes, and imagine yourself in a specific scene or situation. You may find it helpful to use a guided visualization, where someone else leads you through the visualization process. It's also important to remember that visualization is not a one-time event, it is a regular practice that needs to be done in order to achieve the desired results. A regular practice of visualization will help you to create a deeper sense of relaxation, and it will help you to achieve your goals more easily. To sum up, visualization is a powerful tool that can be used in mindfulness practice to help focus the mind, reduce stress and anxiety, and improve overall well-being. It can be done at any time, and in any place, and it does not require any special equipment or training. By using visualization regularly, you can create a deeper sense of relaxation, and achieve your goals more easily.--- This episode is sponsored by · Anchor: The easiest way to make a podcast. https://anchor.fm/app

[ChatGPT composed] Fear is a powerful emotion that can have a significant impact on an individual's ability to focus. When we experience fear, our bodies release adrenaline and cortisol, two hormones that prepare us for "fight or flight" mode. This response is useful in dangerous situations, as it helps us to react quickly and effectively. However, when we experience fear in non-dangerous situations, such as at work or school, it can become a hindrance to our ability to focus. One of the main ways fear impacts our ability to focus is through the activation of the amygdala, a small almond-shaped structure in the brain that is responsible for processing emotions. When the amygdala is activated, it sends a signal to the prefrontal cortex, which is responsible for attention and decision-making. This signal effectively "hijacks" the prefrontal cortex, making it difficult for us to focus on anything else.Another way fear impacts our ability to focus is through the release of cortisol. Cortisol is known as the "stress hormone," and it plays a key role in the body's response to stress. When cortisol levels are high, it can make it difficult for us to focus on a task for an extended period of time. Additionally, cortisol can also negatively impact our memory and cognitive functioning, making it even more difficult to focus.Furthermore, fear can also lead to the development of anxiety and depression, which can have a significant impact on our ability to focus. Anxiety is characterized by feelings of worry, nervousness, and fear, and it can make it difficult for us to focus on a task. Depression, on the other hand, is characterized by feelings of hopelessness, sadness, and lack of motivation, and it can make it difficult for us to even start a task.In order to combat the negative effects of fear on our ability to focus, it's important to understand the underlying cause of the fear. For example, if the fear is related to a specific task or situation, it may be helpful to develop a plan of action to address the underlying issue. Additionally, practicing stress-management techniques such as deep breathing, meditation, and exercise can help to reduce the levels of cortisol and adrenaline in the body, making it easier to focus. In conclusion, fear is a powerful emotion that can have a significant impact on our ability to focus. It can activate the amygdala, release cortisol, and lead to the development of anxiety and depression. To combat the negative effects of fear on our ability to focus, it's important to understand the underlying cause of the fear and to practice stress-management techniques. Singlehood is a stage that many cultures address in their own specific manners. In Western American culture people generally begin a process of dating near age 14-18. Usually there is a process where a teen is developing independence and being allowed added freedoms by guardians upon proving that they can adhere to expectations (see the blog HERE https://tomboyofficial.blogspot.com/2022/10/singlehood-and-gender.html for more on this, and if you have any friends who may be interested in these topics, share the links below).

My attempt at unpacking a recent queer dream that left a strong impression. Basically I am quite homesick, unable to be as easily connected as I would prefer from the lifestyle I have created for myself in San Diego. Check out more details in the blog post below. Between stereotypes, roles and identity, somewhere along the line we learn the societal rules we are expected to uphold. But what happens if those rules don’t work for you? As a person who prefers to present in a more androgynous fashion, I talk here about how that can impact me and some recent experiences and thoughts of how gender rules come up in my life.

Black Pride (race and ethnicity, privilege, racism, prejudice). We can see challenges already with trying to define race and ethnicity. How we look versus how we are treated can be impacting and can lead to privilege, racism, prejudice, and everything in between. The LGBTQ+ community in addition to sexual and gender minorities also is made of racial and ethnic minorities. Here we discuss some of the complexities (I talk about my personal experiences and opinions, this was recorded while driving hence background noise, this was recorded before the event and I intend to post more about my experiences and impressions following the event since at the time of posting I have already attended this event).

Welcome to the pride bootcamp series! So how does this work? Usually before summer (at least in Cali) we start hitting the gym in spring season to get that beach body tone, or at least slightly more confident in our bodies as we will be wearing less sweaters and more light weight clothing or tank tops and swim suits. Everybody wants to feel confident. A bootcamp usually whips a person into shape by focusing on an upcoming goal or event we are preparing for. So here we are going to talk about topics related to pride, looking at some very recent history and not so far past pride events during the rona compared to the more current events and potential to come once Pride month hits this June 2022!

My perspectives on my social life, how hanging with friends and different events impacts dating for me, and some of my personal perspectives and insights from the past, what’s going on in the present, and my future outlooks. (These are my own personal experiences, so not necessarily saying everybody needs to be the same but this is some stuff that does work for me and other stuff I’ve realized that hasn’t). PAST: since I was raised in a conservative and reserved culture which was also judgmental, I often was interested to party more. And to be around more open minded people in more casual environments. The benefits were that things in life were easier to balance with all the structure, but my own preference is to have unstructured days as well. RECENT PAST: once I moved out I was more toward the other extremes of partying and spending just as I pleased. I knew it would be temporary but there were quite a few years of building a friend foundation of healthier relationships of trust. And a process of being able to be more authentic and comfortable with that as well as dealing with past judgmental ideas. That interfered socially. THE PRESENT: I am lately focused on my energy. And on realizing how I can practice a healthier balanced lifestyle while also partying when I feel I need to have more excitement and relaxing and focusing having time alone. Trying to adapt Roni-Rona dating into some new outlooks and balance I have created and this is new territory also. FUTURE OUTLOOKS: I’m considering how things will look on this side of the P Word after a couple years of dealing with things differently, going through different challenges, adapting. Deciding how I want the future to look and how I want my relationships to look.

Emotions often seem to control us. Here we break down the process of how emotions lead to patterns and those patterns can be unhelpful and keep us stuck. We take a look under the microscope and look into the hidden details of how to notice patterns and how to stop them for long enough to implement changes. Whether the relationship is with ourselves, a partner, a friend or family members we can learn to have more control and focus by taking what isn’t working and shifting it into new patterns that take bold and brave actions but are simple and with practice you can feel different and improve relations with yourself and loved ones.

Sports, art, music, creativity. These are the places where our kind is often represented. We all know stereotypes of femme and masc styles, but how cool is it to watch ballerinos fly, or to watch drag queens dance, or female basketball players dominate! While dating and forming more close relationships more than friends, we often aren’t taught how to navigate conversations. We are often taught from a majority culture perspective. Here is some info that may be good food for thought related to how queer people can approach different topics in gender and sexuality when it comes to dating, sex life and sexuality.

Lining up with the authentic self and the ego’s role in trying to defend us. This can happen publicly in social settings or in private internally while alone. We all know what a mistake looks like, and we know what it’s like to not reach a certain goal or expectation in a life milestone or a traditional expectation. When we miss the Mark how do we talk to ourselves? Or when we are insecure in a social setting how do we react? Ego defenses often show themselves when we are threatened by our own memories, upcoming events, and threatened by someone else whether that’s physically or the threat to our integrity.

Real talk, I sometimes need support emotionally from a counselor. Life can be stressful and overwhelming. Even though I work in a therapy setting I am not ashamed to say that I need help sometimes too. Just someone who is a neutral party to help me find methods to cope and to confide in about stressors. If you’ve ever experienced distress and felt stuck, this will be a good episode for you! Ambivalence focuses on the tricky part of why sometimes we can’t “just do it.” Here I talk about situations like crushes, why is it so hard to just ask a person out to find out the answer to if they like you too? Why is it hard in those vulnerable moments to let the guard down and allow the ego to be exposed without feeling defensive? And how can we get more comfortable if we become shy, anxious, or worried about something we REALLY REALLY WANT BUT JUST CANNOT SEEM TO BUILD THE COURAGE.

Here are some methods of coping with gender Dysphoria. It is just a start. But taking time out to slowly figure out how any arising issues are impacting in life and then slowly learning to cope with every aspect of it, this can be done. You can build up a tolerance and understanding to the thoughts and feelings that arise and eventually accept your authentic self. Just because society has not yet caught up and does not reflect all aspects of gender does not mean that anybody is “less than.” It’s hard to be part of a transcendence when society has not yet caught up. I always remind myself- YOU ARE STRONGER THAN YOU KNOW!

IG: @tomboyofficialig Many of our views of gender have been shaped by Western civilization view points which are very rigid, requiring everyone to fit into neat boxes and categories. But gender, as with most identifying aspects of a human’s self, gender is a spectrum. Some may fit into the boxes neatly while others of us deal with more fluid aspects of gender with how we identify, present and express ourselves. Many cultures in past history and even current times have had a different view of gender in society without the same rules in their societies as in Western societies. Can you even imagine how life would be living in an area and cultural surrounding where you could freely participate in hobbies, interests, shop for clothing, wear what you want and behave and present as you want without restrictions of gender norms? Ultimately our societies tell us how we are supposed to fit in when ultimately every individual has so many diverse aspects to their authentic self that some of us cannot fit into the neat boxes. AND THAT IS OKAY! We overlap into other areas. We think and feel differently. Jess Weiner posted a great positive and uplifting piece about viewing the gender spectrum outside the binary as a transcended connection to gender. Here is the Instagram post by Jess Weiner that I used in this episode to talk about gender and transcending https://www.instagram.com/p/B-aTMWxhEQk/?igshid=1b9vwryxmozq0. Here is the first Youtube episode where I saw Jess Weiner: https://youtu.be/CopJ6hzcsUo. In addition to Jess Weiner, some other’s whose names I mentioned or wanted to mention (and was blanking): Stevie Boebi, Sarah Croce, Amberscloset.

Gender tends to be often complex. Have you seen the movie “Her” on Netflix? One scene shows the main character and his coworker speaking during their shift. The coworker mentions to the main character that the main character’s letters come from a female aspect of himself. He continues, commenting that the main character is partially female. And he continues further to state that this comment was meant as a deep compliment to the main character’s letters that he composes as his job. People at times can feel attached to their gender and identify as well as how they present versus how they feel internally. Sometimes people are able to comfortably align all these aspects of themselves and freely live as they choose, and others are forced to an extreme of hiding out of fear for their safety. Here I talk about the external and internal world of gender identity.

We all have those friends who are straight but flirty. Here I mention “femmes,” but really this can be applied to anybody who it is hard to tell if they are interested or if they act interested for attention. Remember, everyone matters, LGBTQ+ folx also matter! You deserve valuable and genuine relationships that are not clouded. One frustrating part of presenting as a “non-typical” stereotypical gender on the binary is that others may experience some curiosities when encountering you. These aren’t all bad experiences. But sometimes the other person may not be aware of the frustrating or confusing situations they may create. Flirting may be fun and uplifting, but other times it may send confusing signals and can unfortunately lead to pain. Here I speak about some topics folx may experience when they themselves are not on the specific stereotypical binary or if they don’t present as such. Please DM me and subscribe. Let me know the topics that interest you!
