With the current regime paying tribute, with a new banking platform #TheMarcus Named after founder who honed his #negotiating skills via livestock at spring markets to a pedlar, hawking household wares from a wagon to tayloing and in New York 1869 moved into finance. From a basement just off Wall Street #Buy discounted IOUs from jewellers/tradesmen in the morning and #Sell then on to up-town commercial bankers in the afternoon.
He is said to have prized ambition, hard work, deplored gossip about the latest fashions. “Money is always fashionable.”
