This week our guests are Bob Dunn and James Dalman and they’re thinking about starting their own podcasts. With a world that seems to be on a podcasting frenzy, how can someone start one without being yet another voice that gets lost in the crowd?
I actually had this same dilemma before we started WP Bacon, but I knew we could have fun and do something that could turn into something great, so I went for it. It hasn’t been as easy as I expected it would be, but we’ve kept the dream alive and now we’re going to talk to some potential podcasters about podcasting. It’s really more interesting than it sounds, I promise.
OMG ANOTHER WORDPRESS PODCAST?! WHY?!?! There’s a lot of WordPress podcasts out there already… so why should you care? Well, for one thing James and Bob are both really interesting characters. James is a veteran working on a start-up to help his brothers and sisters in arms called Happy Joe and Bob is one of the most well-known WordPress training experts around. They’ve both been around WordPress for much longer than I have and they’ve seen it all, done it all, and now they want to talk about how they got to where they are and whether people are really interested in tuning into listen to them every week.
Personally, I think they both have the kind of unique voices that people will identify with. I also think they both reach an audience well outside of the WordPress “community” which is something that I think is really important. Everything that centers around WordPress tends to focus entirely on WordPress and WordPress-related issues… but WordPress is much more than that. We’ll be talking about all of this and more tomorrow at 12pm EST, so come join us! If nothing else, it’ll probably be the most meta thing you do all week. And we’ve got bacon. Cmon.
