My Guest today is Gemma Lloyd - CEO and Co-Founder of Work180.
As an advocate for working women, Work180 provides job applicants with a transparent directory of endorsed employers who support diversity, inclusion and equality. They work directly with employers around policy and procedures to ensure they work towards a fairer workplace for all staff.
In this episode we talk about how much gender bias and sexism played a part in Gemma's drive to start Work180, and what, if anything has changed.
We touch on Gender Bias - the wage gap between men and women, we talk about stereotypes, and if there are other factors which come in to play when talking about gender challenges in the workplace.
Did you know that Australia's full-time gender pay gap currently sits at and average of 13.9%, but reaches as high as 22.1% in Western Australia? While this has seen a downward trend in the past 7 years (it has dropped 4.4% in base salary comparisons), there is still more work to do.
