Let’s Get Lit: Truth, fiction and the Holy City Author Eve Horowitz joins our weekly literary interview program with Ilene Prusher. Horowitz talks about the story behind her most recently published short story as well as life-as-literature in the form of writing her Times of Israel blog, Therapy in the Holy City.

Following the latest terror-attack in the center of Tel Aviv, host Ilene Prusher writes an imaginary letter to a would-be-attacker.

A diva on the rise: Singer-songwriter Galli Allon is releasing her new EP of songs in English after a successful debut album in Hebrew few years ago. Raised in New York until age 12, her childhood and adolescence was infused with influences of American jazz, soul, folk, Motown and pop. She joins us in our TLV1 studios with her traveling keyboard to play and talk about her musical journey.

By the rivers of Babylon: This week the Bible Land Museum released a newly published archive of cuneiform tablets, dating to the generations immediately after the destruction of Jerusalem by Nebuchadnezzar II. It will provide archaeologists, historians and other experts new insights into the life and times of the Jewish community in Babylon – current-day Iraq. Hebrew University Prof. Wayne Horowitz joins TLV1 to explain the importance of this period after the destruction of the First Temple.

The music of peace: Diwan Saz is a multicultural Jewish-Muslim group of seven musicians who perform ancient music from Central Asia, Turkey, Persia, and the Holy Land - promoting peace and understanding through their music. Yochai Barak, the group’s manager and a saz musician, talks the group’s musical home – the Galilee – as the terrain that helped produce a music of peaceful coexistence.

So Eighties: The world looked different in the 1980s – and Israel had a distinct feel that is passing from the landscape. Drive-In, a new exhibit at the Ashdod Art Museum, takes visitors on a photographic journey through those years. Curator Yuval Beaton tells TLV1 what was unique about the images of the day.
