Dr. Richard Harris is a vascular and endovascular surgeon as well as the Co-founder and Medical Director of Kuring-Gai Vascular Ultrasound. Richard is a medical educator and mentor, publishing numerous papers. He is the author of Imagine, a book inspired by John Lennon’s song of the same name. A self-described “dreamer,” Richard’s love for words will soon be expressed again in his upcoming novel titled Friday.
Richard joins me today to imagine a better future. He reveals the concepts behind his book and what “Imagine Day” might look like. He highlights the challenges we face, including tribalism and country states that nurture behaviors and companies that work against our interests. Richard warns that it may be too late to change our behaviors significantly. Thus, we must seriously educate children on ethics, morality, and compassion at a young age. He discusses the problems with our modes of decision-making, political systems, and self-interest. Richard also shares what you can do today to help humankind move toward a better future.
“It’s having that understanding and having that conceptualization that things could be better that is half the battle.” - Dr. Richard Harris
