Dané joins me today to share some hard truths about soft skills. She explains what soft skills are and how they help people build relationships, navigate emotions, and be more open and connected. She reveals how soft skills are harder to measure and quantify than hard technical ones. We discuss whether people today have lost their humanity, curiosity, listening, and caring skills. Dané also defines emotional intelligence and elaborates on how it can affect professional and personal lives.
“The goal of practicing these skills is to bring you into a new mode of being so that—as you cognitively practice them in your daily life—some of that cognition becomes unnecessary.” - Dané Johnson
