Is it a sequel, is it a prequel, did three happen (no), but does it cover 2, 4, 5 and any other Halloween films.

To be honest the murderous escapades of Michael Myers are a bit convoluted, so here I take an obligatory look at one of the Godfathers of the slasher film.  Does Halloween still cut the mustard, or does it just eviscerate it a big knife and move on?.
