• Humans used to determine if sites were useful
• Now its junk - reducing the human input really messed up the internet
• Google originally used "PageRank" to rank sites, which is sort of human-curated
• Not like that anymore, now its all tweaked and redesigned
• They created an algorithm that obfuscates the user from the content
• Google or Facebook control what content people see
• Let's bring back hand curation - maybe then we'll actually see sites of quality again
