Physical inactivity is the 4th biggest killer (World Health Organisation).
Yet globally, 1.3 million deaths on the road and 3.2 million deaths from air pollution.
As climate changes, so will our exercise habits.
And, our exercise habits, effect climate change.
So do they have a shared solution?
We know from research that people feel better in green spaces. Physical activity increases, as does mental and emotional health .
Green spaces also help to keep urban areas cool by 0.94 degrees Celsius - and they help with air and noise pollution.
When we connect to nature we also want to take care of it .
So if we want to take positive action to help our own health and the health of the planet we need to offer greater access and safety to green spaces and green facilities.
We need multiple sectors working together.
Copenhagen has increased the number of all trips from walking/cycling to 45% - the solutions are there
