Where are you… and where do you want to be?

In today’s episode, Randy returns to the foundational question that kicked off Winning Begins at Home and builds on it with a powerful follow-up: What do you want to be true a year from now that isn’t true today?

Drawing inspiration from a recent eye doctor visit, he shares how clarity—both visual and personal—can fade without us even realizing it. But with the right focus and questions, we can sharpen our vision and get back on track.

Get ready to shift from fuzzy to focused as you prepare for the next chapter of your life.

There’s a silent force working against you—and it’s not always loud or obvious.

In today’s episode, Randy uses the metaphor of a boa constrictor to describe how procrastination and inaction slowly steal our time, energy, and purpose.

Whether it’s your health, relationships, or spiritual growth, ignoring what you know you should do only leads to regret.

The good news? You can take back control—one intentional choice at a time. Don’t let resistance win.

We can’t undo the past—but we can choose what we do next.

In today’s episode, Randy reminds us that while life doesn’t offer do-overs, it does give us the chance to start over. Whether it's your emotional health, physical habits, finances, or relationships, you get to hit reset and move forward with purpose.

This episode encourages reflection, humility, and action. It’s not about perfect—it's about progress.

In this episode of Winning Begins at Home, Randy dives into the fleeting nature of time—and how easy it is to get lost in distractions that don’t move the needle.

Inspired by a powerful moment at a graduation service, he unpacks how to reclaim your time, be present, and lead yourself and others with intention. If you feel like life is speeding up and you're stuck on autopilot, this one’s for you.

It’s easy to forget that leadership matters just as much at home as it does in the office.

Randy Gravitt reflects on his journey, shares lessons from writing Winning Begins at Home, and offers practical ways to be more intentional with those we love.

With the power of a few simple questions and the mindset of service, he shows how everyday interactions can become moments of connection. The phrase “I’d love to” isn’t just polite—it’s transformational.

If you’ve ever wanted deeper relationships with your spouse, kids, or loved ones, this is a message you don’t want to miss.

What if the key to deeper connection at home was as simple as two questions?

In today’s episode, Randy Gravitt explores how asking “What do you need?” and “How can I help?” can transform communication and strengthen relationships.

These questions are more than just words—they're an invitation to serve, listen, and show up with love. Whether you're a spouse, parent, or friend, this message reminds us that real connection begins with selflessness.

Disagreements are normal—but when winning the argument becomes more important than the relationship, we all lose.

In this episode of Winning Begins at Home, Randy Gravitt shares a powerful visual to show how small tensions can tangle up even the strongest connections.

Focusing on humility and real listening, he offers a better way to handle conflict and care for the people who matter most. This is a heartfelt reminder that being right isn’t nearly as important as being loving.

What would it take for the people who know you best… to love you the most?

If you win at work, but lose at home, you still lose.

For 650 episodes I produced a podcast about Chasing Greatness in your life personally and professionally.

I pushed pause for 18 months as I went deep in my company’s podcast, the Lead Every Day Show.

But I kept being convicted by what I was seeing as a lack in the conversation about winning at home.

So I am back and have a question.

When you think of success, what comes to mind? Career, public achievements, diplomas, degrees, bank account balance?

We work hard to find a job, gain promotions, and develop skills to become a peak performer. If you’re like most people, we’re continually striving to win at work.

Just as you've crafted a plan for professional growth, it's time to prioritize winning at home.

The first three words in the Bible are “In the beginning.” So, what do you need to begin this year?  I love when January 1st rolls around, as it brings the opportunity for a fresh start, a new perspective, and a clear reset on goals, vision, and opportunities.

This week on the podcast, I’m sharing the key questions I ask myself when it comes to six critical concepts in my life: Clarity, Energy, Necessity, Productivity, Influence, and Courage. I believe the answers you uncover will allow you to live strategically rather than sporadically in the year ahead.

And, if your resolution is to read more, I’m excited to announce that each week’s episode will also feature a “reading recommendation.” To start off, our book of the week for the first week of 2022 is Brendon Burchard’s “High Performance Habits.” I hope his book and the message we’re sharing this week will position you to Chase Greatness on your 2022 goals!

Merry Christmas!

We’re just ten days away from the reason for the season and the “most wonderful time of the year.”

However, for many, the holidays may bring more darkness than light. Darkness may come in the form of financial struggles, family strain, career uncertainty, loneliness, or even depression.

If you identify with this sentiment, I have good news: You can be the light! And, even better news: Light will always overcome the darkness. Surround yourself with life-giving relationships, be emotionally present, treat every day as a gift, and you will take steps toward being the light for your family, your community, and even the world!

This week’s podcast is going to be different from our typical episode. Over the weekend, I had the opportunity to speak at Hillsong Church in Atlanta. Regardless of your beliefs, I thought you might find encouragement in my message. Please pass along any comments, and also share with anyone you know who needs a reminder of how much God loves them. Be sure and join me the next couple of weeks for a special Christmas episode and a look back on 2021.

As we enter the holiday season and rapidly approach the end of 2021, we’re taking a week to review the year.

As we look back on the podcasts we have released, we asked ourselves, "Which were the most listened to? And, more importantly, why?"

"How Great People Grow" was high on the list and we think it’s because no matter where you are on your own journey – whether you are leading a multi-million dollar organization or a Saturday morning Little League team – every leader is looking for advice on how to reach his or her potential.

We’re back with another episode to help you WIN AT HOME. This week, we’re talking about core values.

I just got back from the beach and it got me thinking: if you’ve ever gone swimming in the ocean, you understand the power of an undertow. Thankfully, YOU CAN SURVIVE the undertow of life and leadership and the forces – expectations, approval, shame, materialism, isolation, and more – that pull us adrift. In this week’s episode, we discuss core values and how they are the key to staying grounded and having the life you want. Near the end, I share an eight minute secret that could change your life.

Feel free to leave your comments so we can interact, and thanks for sharing with your friends and family. You are helping us spread the message that, “winning begins at home.”  Remember, if you win at work and lose at home, you still lose. Let’s keep doing our HOME WORK!

The greatest coaches make Half Time adjustments that position their teams for the greatest chance of success. This is the topic for today's podcast: What half time adjustments do you need to make halfway through the year to set yourself up for success these last 6 months?

I have 6 questions you should ask yourself to get started on this track of resetting.

  1. What is working right now?
  2. What is NOT working right now?
  3. What is missing?
  4. What do you need to prune?
  5. What is your #1 priority for the second half of the year?
  6. What is your #1 goal for the second half of the year?

"Your Friends Determine The Direction And Quality Of Your Life" - John Orr

This is a statement that rings true in every aspect of our lives. Financially, physically, spiritually, emotionally, etc.

Jim Rohn said, "You are the average of the five people you spend the most time with." Whether that is 100% accurate or not, there is some truth in that quote. The Bible says it this way, "Bad company corrupts good character".

This is the first episode in a series titled, "Better Together".

We are 100 days into the year! How are you doing? Are you hitting your goals? Where do you need to change?

President Biden is coming up on his first 100 days in office, how will he be remembered? Did he hit his goals or did he miss the mark in a few areas?

As we look back on the first third of 2021, ask yourself, "How am I doing, honestly?". You have to start where you are but you don't have to stay there!

Recently I decided to cancel Netflix because I normally don't watch tv, not because its bad, (the Masters are on this week and I defiantly will be watching!) ,but because I want to dedicate my extra time to growing.

How dedicated are you to your personal growth plan this year? Lets readjust and hit this next 100 days with more intentionality and focus than we did the first!

Lets Chase Greatness!

I think Harry S. Truman said it perfect when he said,

"Not all readers are leaders, but all leaders are readers."

This perfectly sets up what we will be discussing today. How Great People Read.

I know you're busy and you are thinking that adding a commitment to reading is the last thing that you want to do, but I think it will benefit you more than you can imagine.

To help with how to make that commitment we go over three tips that I think can help you as you start down this path of intentional reading.

Also, we talk about a few of my favorite books on the podcast today, including:

  • Necessary Endings by Henry Cloud
  • Great by Choice by Jim Collins
  • Your Roadmap For Success by John Maxwell
  • Linchpin by Seth Godin
  • Every Shot Counts by Mark Broadie
  • Deep Work by Cal Newport
  • The Purpose Driven Life by Rick Warren
  • And my personal favorite, The Bible

Jesus flipped the definition of what it means to be great on its head when He was on earth and I would like to share that perspective with you today.

Sadly, everywhere I go, I meet leaders who feel lonely. As someone once said, “It’s lonely at the top.” Most leaders can appreciate the truth of that statement, and yet it doesn’t have to be that way. Loneliness is a choice.

As a leader, the most important thing you have is your people. While the temptation for a leader is to insulate and isolate him- or herself from the outside world, giving in to this temptation is a mistake.

This week on the podcast, we’re discussing community. I want to remind you: please don’t neglect the worth of the people around you. Listen to their stories, value their opinions, and foster their dreams. If you do, you won’t have to be lonely at the top. You can choose a better way – the way of relationships.
