DUCK SEASON IS CRAZY! After weeks of trying to get our schedules lined up, I finally jumped on a phone call with Eric Rinehart of Missouri, one of the owners of North Delta Outfitters and Day Break Outdoors. We started out taking about Dexter, MO and farming as a living. Eric told me about farming and growing up with his friends and always having somewhere to hunt. He told me stories about buddies sharing a blind, and the ideas that were created in there. We talked about the changes of duck hunting over the years, but, of course, Eric elaborated on what Missouri is like when the Mississippi River gets up.
We talked about the guide life, and the toll that takes on you as a person, your family, your relationships, and everything else in between. Eric told me about how special the teal have been recently, and how the upcoming freeze is going to affect them. We talked about the risks outfitters take and what it looks like to 'count your cripples'.
We talked about turkey hunting and what the Spring looks like for both of us. Eric told me about being a #GirlDad and how thankful he is to be able to support his family while still doing what he loves.
Of course, we wrap up with some advice & Eric told me to 'slow down'. He said nothing in life is worth rushing, and we have to slow down. We have to soak in each and every moment because we won't ever get it back.
