In today’s fast-paced, social media-driven world, it can be easy to make dating into just a “numbers game”. People often forget that finding quality connections and long-lasting compatibility is ultimately the objective of dating. And let’s not forget that once you’re in a relationship, roles will form, and you’ll have to deal with expectations, and responsibilities – it’s real work.

“If we have an understanding of communication and boundaries already set, things will go better. A lot of people come into situations with high expectations but if you talk about it at first, be friends at first, build on that first, I think things [relationships] would go a lot better.”

  • Merceytee Oke, Ep. 67 One Percent Man Podcast

In today’s episode, I explore a woman’s mentality towards men and dating with guest Merceytee Oke. We examine the overall relationship between men and women, where it’s headed in the current culture, and where it goes wrong. Merceytee addresses how expectations can ruin a relationship and answers the foundational question: “what are modern women looking for in relationships?”

Join us as we examine these questions and learn more about the synergies between men and women both in dating and in relationships.

For some people dating is a constant challenge. Most of us have had awkward first dates or a relationship that didn’t quite work out. In a world where social media puts you on a collision course with more and more people, it’s important to understand what's changed and how it affects you.

“I think a lot of men are not being taught integrity. We’re living in a time where a lot of men get on their platforms with their microphones and they’re trying to lead other men but they don’t have integrity for themselves. What they’re passing down to other broken, wounded men is a lot of stuff that doesn’t come from a place of integrity.”

  • Cici B., Episode 63

In this episode, Cici B and I tackle all aspects of dating and relationships in the modern day. We’ll uncover the female perspective and answer all of your burning questions. From common mistakes and things to avoid – to raw advice and truths for navigating the dating world as a single man (or a woman.)

Do you have a fear of approaching women?

Many men do for many different reasons. It turns out that it comes down to fundamentals in terms of building confidence to speak to women. The typical dating advice and tactics won’t work if you don’t have your bases covered in terms of self-respect, finances, health, and fitness. Is there a number you stick to in your savings that allows you to feel comfortable? Even your own feelings behind that number can affect how you approach a woman.

If you have money in your account and you have a banging body, how are you going to feel about yourself? Not even [talking about] self-respect, just self-esteem! How would you feel if you know you look good? People are going to gravitate towards you because you feel good about yourself. People want to be around people who feel good.

Bertrand Ngampa, 1PM: 062

In this episode, you’ll discover the 4 fundamentals you must have covered before approaching women. We’ll tackle savings, health, fitness, mindset, and spirituality. In addition, I cover the impact of self-esteem and why it is causing more than just your problems with women. To wrap it up, I’ll uncover the one thing that will make you irresistible to not only attract a woman, but attract the right one.

It’s obvious that our society has different standards for men and women.

We’re not here to blame people for these gender roles, but as men, we have to take responsibility for what happens to us emotionally. One of the biggest problems men face is the fact that instead of solving our emotional problems, we bottle them up and take them with us to the next relationship.

“Men are allowed to be robots and to have 2 emotions: angry and horny. There are a lot of men that deal with emotional scars and they’re not getting treated. We’re taking that baggage and those emotional problems to the next relationship, and from there we think, ‘there’s something wrong with women,” when we are actually the problem.” Bertrand Ngampa, 1PM: 060

In this episode, you’ll discover how to uncover the who, what, when, and why behind our emotional pain, and how you can unpack it so you don’t bring it to your next relationship. I’ll help you understand the most important component; taking responsibility for how we feel. To do this, we’ll acknowledge the pain, accept it, and get professional help. Finally, we’ll touch on the power of sex, the effect it has on your relationship, and why fitness is a great outlet for your emotional struggles.

Have you been exposed to war?

I think it creates a certain type of person with a specific mindset.

The downsides of war are obvious, but there is no doubt that some of the hardest people become a byproduct of it. Along the same lines, poverty can breed a similar type of motivation. Our guest today is here to help us discover the reality of war, why we need love instead, and how gratitude can foster a mindset that can’t be beaten.

War doesn’t work. War might be a business, but I grew up in a 40-year conflict, […] and our country [Ireland] is the definition of conflict resolution. What really bothers me is racism in America. People need to stand united. Love is the key to everything; success, happiness, growth. Northern Ireland is a blueprint, a complete proof.

Tom Smyth, 1PM: 060

According to his bio, “Tom Smyth was born in Belfast in 1974 at the height of The Troubles.” He began working at age 10 selling fish and chips and worked his way up to the CEO of Dream Apartments and many other successful businesses. Tom is a self-motivated, independent thinker, that has completely shattered the mold, and overcame every ounce of adversity to set himself up for success in life. These days he’s a speaker and mentor for Grant Cardone and the author of the book, “Fear Less.”

In this episode, you’ll discover what it’s like to be born into war, how to create an unstoppable mindset, how to use the word ‘yes’ to make anything happen, and finally, how to take massive action towards any goal.

Have you ever felt like you’re working in chaos?

I think we all have, but it’s obvious that it doesn’t last long. When it comes to budgeting your time and your effort, you have to keep in mind that burnout can be our worst enemy. Our guest today is a natural workaholic just like me, but Emir Horton has made a shift in his life. Similar to the sentiment of our last episode, he understands that money is only one component. It can be so easy to put your head down and grind, but ignore the traumas that are stopping you from taking your life to the next level.

I’m thinking about where we are currently, black men particularly, and how much trauma and healing that we have to go through because of the pressure society gives us, especially in America. The value I would love to instill in all of us is to have some self-love for yourself, and a lot of that self-love comes with discovering who we are. In order to discover who you are you have to get through the baggage and do the work that your past experiences left you with. The only way we can heal the world is if we’re healing ourselves, and being a bridge and a mirror to others.

Emir Horton 1PM: 059

Emir Horton is a Philadelphia native, entrepreneur, actor, television producer and journalist, and philanthropist. He’s the associate producer of, “The Same Room,” an internet talk show offering authentic and insightful faith-based discussions. He’s also the founder of Eartha, a watch company he founded in his grandmother’s name, making him the youngest African American watch brand owner.

In this episode, we dive into the philosophy behind Eartha, the challenge of breaking into Hollywood and how that turned Emir towards entrepreneurship, and why he specially chose watches as his go-to product. We also dive into time management and burnout, so you can understand how such a high functioning person creates life balance.

If you’ve been on the internet, you’ve noticed the influx of digital entrepreneurs pedaling a course with an exotic car behind them.

In our culture of digital entrepreneurship, it can be easy to get sucked in by the lifestyle, the cars, the money, and the glory. Our guest today is here to let you know there is nothing about that glory that makes you successful. We have to change our view, and turn our attention to the story; the way those people got there, and the decisions they made along the way. Don’t get caught up in the byproducts of success.

There are so many opportunities, so many niches, so many products that are available. My whole thought process is: there are trillions of dollars of transactions on the internet every year. Nobody needs a trillion dollars. So if you got 000000001% of that, you’ll be alright! Getting started [I said] if I could get a small portion of that pie, I’ll be in a good position for myself. Especially in the world of entrepreneurship, it’s so easy to separate yourself from everybody else. They don’t quit on the industry, they just quit on themselves!

Do you know what you want?

No.

Do you know EXACTLY what you want in life? We’ve heard financial gurus like Ramit Sethi help people map out their ‘rich life’. The dream life. Not the life they would live if money was no object, the ideal life they can live by using what they have now.

Whether you call it your ‘rich’ life, ideal life, or dream life, our guest today believes with conviction that as men, we give up on our dream life to pursue a life of mediocrity. Most men also have no idea what that life looks like, so they have no goal to shoot for.

I think men are afraid to go after what they really want. Society just has a love affair with mediocrity. Everyone is celebrating average so they stop going for their dream, and submit to this ordinary life., and they just don’t go for it. Everybody is waiting for permission so be who they want to be, and the biggest secret out there, is that nobody is going to grant you permission but you!

John Madsen on 1PM: 057

According to his website, “John Madsen is a highly sought-after consultant who teaches high-performance individuals and executive teams how to automate championship behavior to get championship results. His clientele ranges from Olympians, MLB Players, NFL players, and Corporate Execs to the ordinary dude who wants to win.”

In this episode, you’ll discover how to get clear about what you actually want in life, how to use fear and focus and stop worrying about what-ifs, how to use the law of attraction to attract what is good for you, what to do if you get off track, how he went from $20k a month to $100k a month, and the difference a powerful brand image can make. You’re a product of your environment. Even if you’ve unlearned some of the behavior that you adopted growing up.

Wherever that may be, these environments influence a lot of what we know and do. Who we become, our morals, thoughts, and behaviors are all influenced by our environment.

Today’s guest came from a harsh area, from the streets. He was a product of his environment, but he learned that being around more positive people had a large impact on his life and his mindset. At his most comfortable position ever in life, Eddie found himself depressed. It wasn’t until he identified this he made a change.

“As men, we’re looking at pro athletes, musicians, entertainers, etc. These are the examples we’re given by society. That’s not very conducive to us developing healthy mental relationships with our emotions and decision-making. We’re basically told be strong be touch be physical be dominant basically be aggressive and violent and you’ll be rewarded for it. To be your own man is to take accountability for your own life and actions, and recognize you’ve made mistakes.”

Eddie Smith, 1PM: 056

Eddie James Smith III is a business coach, consultant, and thought leader. He is committed to building a legacy through self-mastery and leadership. From Spokane, now residing in Chicago, “Eddie brings a lifetime of street smarts, hard truths, and proven strategies founded on cognitive patterns, human behavior, and cold, hard data to his instruction and every move he makes,” according to his bio.

In today’s episode, we dive into some topics from Eddie’s book, “Memoirs Of A 30 Year Old Fuck Up.” In addition, we uncover why our role models have been flawed from the start, how Eddie picked himself up out of depression, and the power of fear versus intuition, and a movie that provided some surprising inspiration.

We all have an idea of what success is to us. For some it’s having the freedom to do what we want on a daily basis, for others, it’s working a job we love.

Our ideas of success are shaped over time, but most often we are trying to live better than those that raised us. Our guest today, John Vitti is the son of Italian farmers. He uses his parent’s upbringing as a form of gratitude and carries it into everything he does.

John realized that controlling his destiny meant controlling his bank account, and he sought out a life that allowed him to be financially free.

It’s for the have-nots. We need to rise together, level up together whether that’s through making money, whether that’s through educating people at a school about real life. I hope I can just impact people, […] and help mother nature too.

John Vitti, 1PM: 055

In this episode, you’ll discover how John went from overweight to fit, and the transformation that made in his life in conjunction with practicing Muay Tai. We cover John’s entrepreneurial journey and give you an inside look at what it’s like to launch 4 companies, exit 2 of them, and start his world-renown prediction game company, VersusGame.

Do you feel fulfilled?

For many of us, fulfillment is difficult to define. We all want it, but we don’t necessarily know how to get it. Do we have to embody what it feels like to be fulfilled before we actually get what we want? Our guest, Corey Gladwell says you should set your life up so you can feel fulfilled, especially if you’re not at that place you’re striving to get to yet.

“I have to become that person and enjoy feeling as if I’m that person right now in order to actually achieve that life and be that person. So, what does that person do every day? I meditate, work out. Whatever it is [for you]. Those little things every day don’t feel like they’re making a difference, […] but over 2,3,4 years it all shoots up. How can I maximize my fulfillment today instead of waiting for that time period, and create that system and allow that to be drawn to me as I’m building the steps to get there.”

– Corey Gladwell, 1PM:

054

“I’ve had it all, lost it, and had it all again.” He’s spent 1000’s of hours in deep meditation, became a 4X international best-selling author, ran a world-class advertising firm, and turned his own journey of building heaven on earth into a visionary and transformational tool to reshape life and business aptly named The Way.

In this episode, you’ll discover practical ways to get in alignment with yourself. From this alignment, you can create the life you dream about by shifting your identity, your habits, and relationships. Ultimately you will be able to create a self-fulfilling feedback loop that helps you actually become the person you dream to be, not just act like it!

If you’re reading this, you’ve most likely had sex before marriage.

It’s not something to be ashamed of, almost all of us have done it. Fortunately, there is another side to this with a myriad of benefits. Robert Kiyosaki has come up many times in my podcasts, but today he’s mentioned for bringing forth the idea of sexual transmutation.

Sexual transmutation tells us that we can harness sexual energy, and transmute it into other areas of our life. Men commonly identify a partner before they identify a purpose which leads to failed relationships, unhealthy dynamics, and ultimately loneliness. It makes it so we can’t use that sexual energy for good. In today’s podcast, Robert Kowalski lays down the steps to achieve healthy relationships through waiting.

Your chances of being happily married are very low if you have sex before marriage. You know some of them are staying together for the kids, ‘situationships’, so maybe half of those people are not even in a healthy marriage. When you’re having sex you’re getting releases of hormones, oxytocin is a big one. It gives you these feelings of love, but you’re not looking at all the issues. When you stop having sex you put that relationship under a microscope!

Rob Kowalski, 1PM: 053

Rob Kowalski is an expert in sex transmutation, waiting to have sex before marriage, and using your sexual energy to build an empire. He considers himself a reformed bad boy & Jesus follower looking to teach men the same thing that changed his own life.

In this episode, you’ll discover the power of waiting to have sex. In addition, Rob tells us how to divorce-proof your marriage, harness the power of sexual energy, build it up, and use it to discover your purpose before you can succeed in a relationship.

Are you naturally intimate when it comes to your partner?

If you’re a man, chances are you’re not. Most men struggle with intimacy and for good reason. We’re not taught what it means to be intimate with another person, even if we’ve been exposed to it before. It turns out that we may have experienced intimacy with loved ones without even knowing it.

It’s our job as men, and partners to understand intimacy on a deeper level, so we can thrive in our relationships.

Intimacy is a closeness and a communication with someone that you feel drawn to. It’s right there with romance. The intimacy is you paid attention to the details of what I shared with you, and you made sure you were able to fulfill that for me. And that’s when you have to listen to most, when you’re pursuing. That’s what gets you that A+ instead of that B-!

Danie Betts, 1PM: 052

Danie Betts is the owner of Privacy Intimates. She’s on a mission to empower women to embrace their femininity. Her lines of toys, clothing, costumes, and more for women are designed to make girls feel great in their own bodies, so they can share that with their significant other.

In this episode, you’ll discover the tools to identify and use intimacy in your relationship. Danie breaks down the difference between romance and intimacy, what to ask your partner to facilitate intimacy, and how not to speak with your significant other to create an intimate relationship.

If you don’t have a problem working, I bet you have a problem disconnecting.

It’s incredible the amount of value you can get, by simply not doing anything. When you’re so involved in your work, it can be impossible to see yourself and your work from the outside. The problem with not disconnecting is that you can’t see the problems that are right in front of you.

When you set aside the time to let your business, your home, or your life run on its own, you will realize an entirely new mindset through the act of now focusing on them.

3 weeks ago I took a vacation for the first time in 28 years for myself. We have been taught how to work, but something we don’t know how to do is turn it off and relax. It took about 4 days to relax.

Bertrand Ngampa, 1PM: 051

Do you think you experience pressure? Imagine being the CEO of a Fortune 500 company; being concerned with payroll, and supporting thousands of families that depend on your business to keep them alive.

That’s pressure.

Not to say you don’t understand pressure, but in being a man, it’s mandatory to apply the pressure, and then use the pressure to grow. The problem is, nobody is concerned with what is going well. People are only concerned with what is going wrong, and with that comes pressure.

There’s a great pressure that we put onto ourselves as a man. Everybody is clapping for you, but you’re not clapping for yourself. I’m not telling you you need to be more present. It’s just a character trait within us. There’s a process to it, and you are the type of mab that enjoys the process. You lead into the pressure, you love the pressure because that’s where you do best!

Bertrand Ngampa, 1PM: 050

In this episode, I discuss the importance of pressure, the self, health, mind, body, and soul. We also ask the question, who can you truly be yourself with? We look at pressure as it is, as it arrives in our lives, and what we have to do as men to overcome it.

It may be surprising, but I am strictly trying to learn about the women I date. It’s been an experience diving back into the dating world.

Between 2 jobs, businesses, and health it can seem overwhelming to date, but it’s so worth it. Dating has also changed. The standards have changed and it’s even easier for your to stand out than it was before. Chivalry is nonexistent in many men, so if you can be an honest, genuine, and kind person you can have the potential to build an incredible relationship with a woman.

The standard for dating is so low because I pulled out the chair, heald the door open, I was looking at her – she wasn’t used to dating somebody like me. Just being a kind gentleman, holding the door, listening to what the woman says, and talking back to her will move the date forward. I am not surprised that I could easily be having sex with so many women. People aren’t used to kind men anymore!

Bertrand Ngampa, 1PM: 049

In this episode, I break down 3 different dates with 3 different women; some promising, and some who will remain friends. You’ll discover how to be honest, and set expectations during the first few dates. Finally, I touch on my book and the future of the brand as it relates to that.

Has somebody ever told you to your face that you’re not being a leader?

This happened to me in the past couple of months, and I had to face the reality upfront. The truth is, I was pulled in too many directions.

It’s been a while since you’ve heard from me, and today I’d like to show you where I’ve been, how I’m improving, and where this podcast is going. People ask me all the time, “why are you working so much?”

“I have 2 salespeople running 12 hour shifts. This is so amazing, I couldn’t keep answering all of the leads. I couldn’t focus on the cleaning company and focus on my job. Ego-wise, I’m driven by my dark side because I am fueled by my ego of getting better, of being better, because I know I can do it.”

Bertrand Ngampa, 1PM 048

In this episode, I discuss why I took a break, the ups and downs of my cleaning company and bringing it to $10k+ a month revenue, how I discovered I wasn’t the leader I thought I was, and I even disclose my annual income.

I also shed light on the grand vision of this podcast, and what that means for you, as well as my new approach to developing relationships with women.

High performers have high-performance habits. As I’ve mentioned before, it may seem like the big things in life make the difference, but it’s the consistent, daily habits that build the empire. Without consistently giving our body what it needs, we cannot perform at our max as we go throughout the day, the week, the month, and the year.

One bad day can cause us to fall off, and without some basic pillars of performance, you could find yourself slipping easily. It’s about progressing more than it is perfecting.

Everyday I do the same workout. Progress over perfection. It’s mundane and it’s hard. I’m literally callussing my mind. There is no variety. I don’t even have to think about it.

-Coach B, 1PM: 047

In this episode, you’ll discover the 4 Basic Routines for high performance. I’ll break down the exact routines I follow on a daily basis, why they’re important and how you can apply them in a way that works for you.

Have people pushed back at you because of your transparency?

The line between constructive and destructive criticism can be slim, but not being honest can lead to way bigger problems down the line. Kevin Joseph, founder of, CMO in a Box is a self-made entrepreneur and marketer. He believes that all men should be transparent and accountable to themselves, which in turn allows their self-awareness to grow with their accountability. He also has something to say about the daily work it takes to build that self-awareness:

“Everyday my self-awareness gets at least one percent better. That’s what I strive for. I’ve realized I can only help people if they want to help themselves. Since I lead by example, people ask questions. I keep my life very simple. I follow the values of: if you’re not paying my bills, you really don’t have that big of an input. I know how hard I work.”

– Kevin Joseph, 1PM: 046

Kevin is a great example of somebody that doesn’t let anybody live rent-free in his head. In this episode, you’ll discover how Kevin built a daily practice of reflection and review to have complete ownership of his thoughts, why he thinks accountability is a trait all men should harness, how his parents and others doubts about his occupation fueled him, and how to be responsible while taking ownership of your life.

We’ve all seen The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air. Would you consider yourself more like Will or Carlton?

Our identities change as we grow. Many of us start out as a ‘Carlton’ and become a ‘Will’ the same way I did once I became an athlete. As I went through high school, I found myself getting more attention while growing stronger and bigger physically. It’s surprising how changing your physical traits can change how you feel about yourself, which changes how other people perceive you.

Jeff Young experienced this too, having the physical traits of an NFL player out of high school. He went the college route, strengthened his mind and body, and became a poet and motivational speaker in conjunction with his success as a relationship coach and conflict resolution specialist. Jeff has some important ideas around relationships we can all learn from.

‘Women lead with their heart, men lead with their head,” […] we just have to find out what that middle ground is. Even when things are good you have to check in. We have this space where we have an opportunity for an open diologue. The other person just has to listen. Your relationship is going to be ever-changing, and you have to leave room for that wherever you are in the relationship.

Jeff Young, 1PM: 45

In this episode, you’ll discover how to improve your relationship even when it’s going well, how to create a sacred space to check in with each other, and how Jeff used education, volunteering, and mindset to find success after college and fulfill his dream as a speaker and coach.

Jeffrey W. Young, known as ‘Backpack Jeff” is a poet, speaker, and motivational human being. Jeff is also a coach specializing in conflict and mediation between personal and professional parties. He earned a B.S. in Psychology from Waynesburg University and a Masters Degree in Social Work along with a certification in conflict resolution from the California University of PA. “Jeff has dedicated his time to giving back to the community and helping young people push through adversity.” – BackPackJeff.com

Many of us have no formal education when it comes to our finances. We may have learned to write a check, or open a bank account, but don’t we need actual financial advice based on our situation? The modern system assumes people will go out and learn on their own, but if those around us have never taught us, then we’ll never know what we should do.

Financial coach, best-selling author, and TEDx speaker, Rahkim Sabree breaks down the reality of finance in the black community and tells his story and motivation for making it his mission to educate other black professionals about finance.

There is an element of cultural sensitivity that financial educators need to have when they’re talking about these topics, because you’re dealing with generations of trauma, psychological trauma that is not going to be undone by a financial literacy course. I talk a lot about financial empowerment, [and] there are a lot of people out there who know what they should be doing, but they’re not doing it because they don’t feel empowered to do it. They don’t feel empowered to go out and make this difference.

-Rahkim Sabree, 1PM: 044

In this episode, you’ll learn how financial empowerment can change your view of money, the behind-the-scenes of Rahkim’s TEDx talk, how to embrace your personality while also being professional, and finally, how to build a team around your finances.

If you’ve ever looked into real estate, you’ve heard of Robert Kiyosaki. He’s the author of one of the highest-grossing business books ever, “Rich Dad, Poor Dad” – a timeliness story about a young boy learning from two ‘fathers’; his own ‘poor’ father, and his best friends ‘rich’ father. While the book may be somewhat outdated today, it nonetheless contains principles of real estate and business.

So, in today’s age can you still make money in real estate? Is it right for everybody? As you heard in episode 37 with Alex Kamunyo, there are ways to completely replace your income or make an entire second income with real estate. In today’s episode, we learn from the real-estate mogul, Chris Grenzig while we pivot from financial freedom to the facets of a multi-family empire.

The easiest part is buying a deal, the hard part is operating a deal. I think one of the biggest misconceptoins people have is when we’re buying a deal we’re underwriting a deal, we’re analyzing it, we’re putting numbers on paper […], but as soon as we close a deal we throw all of that out the window, because you’re never going to [get it] 100% right.

-Chris Grenzig, 1PM: 042

Chris Grenzig is the Founder of JAG Communities, a vertically integrated multifamily-focused investment firm based in Jacksonville, FL. After months of failing to flip houses in Long Island NY, he attempted out-of-state flips, purchasing tax deeds, and finally found his footing in multifamily. Chris joint-ventured on just over 100 units, before joining Toro Real Estate Partners as their head of Florida operations. Chris eventually left Toro in November of 2020 to start his own company, JAG Ventures which owns and manages small to mid-sized apartment complexes in Jacksonville, MSA.

In this episode, you’ll discover the pros and cons of multifamily investing, the differences between multi and single-family units, the ideal person to try this type of investing, and finally, how Chris went from a failing flipper to a multi-family mogul.

If you’ve worked a job with a manager above you, you’ve probably been in a situation where they didn’t fully understand the way you receive and apply their orders. It turns out, we can learn a lot from the salesmen and managers’ perspective whether it’s the ability to convince somebody of something, the words you use when describing what you do, or understanding and adjusting for each employee’s personality and behavior.

“When you’re managing people[it’s] a whole different ball game. You have to be able to create individual relationships or build a foundational trust with the team as a whole and each member on your team.”

Have you ever considered joining the military? Did you know there are actually 3 branches of the military within every branch? For some folks, joining the military is the most formative experience of their entire lives. It can and will instill discipline, hard work, teamwork, and a whole bunch of other skills that only military personnel will understand. On the other hand, some people have assumptions about the military that are simple not true.

It’s all about perspective. Obviously, we have an inherent risk involved [in] joining the military. […] Auto accident deaths are going to supersede every death count that we have in all branches combined in a 10-mile radius in NYC. You’re telling me that you’re ok with driving a couple of tons of metal to transport from point a to point b, but you don’t want to take the ‘risk’ of being a member in the military and getting the additional skill sets, experience and training that will make you a better person, but also more effective in life later on.

He has extensive military experience and has gained a following by documenting his journey on his YouTube channel, Instagram and Facebook page. Have you tried yoga? I could guess a few reasons why. Most men who stick to the gym neglect stretching, but the benefits of a yoga class go beyond the physical side. Michelle Rogers has something to say – actually a whole lot to say about your reluctance to try yoga.

“The reason men don’t go to yoga classes; there’s women there. The energy of the opposite sex, the energy of people that don’t look like you […] is [actually] beneficial. It’s a social experience. Men who workout need to stretch the muscles and remove lactic acid to reduce injury.” – Michelle Rogers, 1PM: 039

With some of the biggest business guru’s saying it’s too risky and moguls like Robert Kiyosaki building empires off or real-estate, we’re left to wonder if there really is that much potential in it. It’s surprising, but there are people replacing their 9-5 yearly salaries just through flipping properties.

When it comes to whether you should flip or whether you should rent, it […] depends on your goals. My goal is financial freedom. How do I get financial freedom? From cash flow. From properties that are paying me every single month.

-Alex Kamunyo

On this episode you’ll discover what it takes to flip properties. Why you need to know the different between distressed and move-in ready properties, and how Alex replaced his income with rental properties by 24 years old. Alex Kamunyo is a 24 year old engineer and entrepreneur. Since graduating college in December 2017 he has been working as a civil engineer. Ryan Sullivan is the creator of our intro and outro music. He’s a rapper, producer, DJ and podcaster. His journey into being a content and podcast creator was riddled with ups and down but through it all, Ryan was able to jump into action and pivot on the go.

A key theme I took from him was no matter what, just show up and learn on the go.

If you’re reading this, you’ve probably had to make the tough decision of choosing to do things yourself, or pay somebody else to do them. For me, I realized from Chris Harder and some other creators that outsourcing the things you don’t specialize in is key! Even if we lose a little control up front, it’s 10x more worth it as time goes on.

In this episode, I dive into the reason I took a vacation, as well as the difficulty it took to truly disconnect. I also speak on the process of hiring outside help for my podcast and what that looks like.

Our culture breeds on this idea that it has to be perfect. But most great things start out and they suck but over time they become great. We read headlines and see social media post of people killing it right now but their journey of starting is never shown.

The reality is you have to start and progress through the process. Yes you will suck a lot at 1st. But over time you will get better and better.

Ary Michele is my good friend and buddy. She is a comedic queen but more importantly she is a MONEY QUEEN! Are you stuck not making the money you want? She can help! You need to understand your money flow? She can do that too! When it comes to money she got it all on LOCK!

She dropped amazing actionable information about how to start “holding” more money right now. Hope you take action on this information because it will cause huge shifts. And I was able to break new limits in my own money. I saved over $15,000, asked for a $150,000 yearly salary, and increased my prices in my business too.

You ever picked up a book and couldn’t put it down. Well, Brass Knuckle Financial was that book for me. I learned a lot about the overall American system of money that I was taught. It caused me to look at my own money habits differently. As you may know or now know I have dove into personal finance extreme like no other this year.

When looking at what I must have in life I knew it would take a new approach that I had not learned yet so I decided to start putting them into play now. Like saving over 50% of my paychecks and hitting over $10,000 in a single account for the 1st time in my life. This book may have not been the catalyst but it was certainly the book that broke the camel’s back.

I enjoyed it as well because it is an easy read and quick one too. No fluff just fact, facts, and more facts. His personal journey and story from massive debt to now debt free since 2010 is inspiring as well.

You can get the book at https://www.bkfuniversity.com/product-page/brass-knuckle-finance-2nd-edition

Science says we have 12,000 to 6,000 thoughts in our mind daily. I must be above the average mind because I have millions of thoughts that flood my mind. Quieting my mind and racing thoughts is sometimes the hard thing to do. Your mind can be your best friend or your great enemy.

That is why I invited my good friend and Dr. Jessica Borushok to share with us how our mind works and real life strageries we can use today. Dr. Jessica Borushok is a registered clinical and health psychologist that specializes in a type of Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) called Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (or ACT, said as one word).

ACT teaches new skills for connecting with the present moment, provides new perspectives on the thoughts, feelings, memories, and physical sensations that can at times be overwhelming, and helps provide a new way forward based on who you are and what you want out of life.

The thing I love about her is she uses real science and does not share some hacks. She gives real concrete help to quieting our busy minds and getting it back on your side.

This whole episode I was at the edge of my seat because my mind is ALWAYS racing. And I have listened to this episode a few things already. So listen up and take action even faster!

I try to keep most podcast (especially interviews) under 30 minutes. But Kimanzi and I were on a roll. Kimanzi Constable and his coaching and course has helped me to be a lot more organized and think long term. Everyone wants to go make money right now, but later will soon become your right now.

Leaving you in a never ending circle of just a completely nasty siutation of never actually building anything just chasing the next paid day. So it is important you think of your end game goal before going out there.

This man started a profitable business at the age of 19 and was married. He has lived thru many experiences and really opens up and shares REAL actionable information to help you when deciding if a woman is the one for you. Who you decide to commit to and marry is important. Heed the words of this wise man and listen up because he dropped MAJOR KEYS!
