Today I want to tell you The Same Jesus has the Same Plan!

The Same Jesus The Same Plan

The Gospel is not a departure from God’s plan. The Gospel is the fulfillment of God’s plan.

Jesus did not bring a new plan. Jesus fulfilled the original plan. Jesus was not a diversion from the plan… Jesus was not “plan B” after “plan A” failed in the garden.

God has always had a plan, and the plan has always been Jesus!

John 1:1 (NIV) In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.

“The Word” is an interesting idea. We should understand that Jesus is THE WORD, but do we understand what it means for Him to be THE WORD?

John, the disciple chose a really interesting Greek expression to describe Jesus. “The Word” in Greek is “Logos.”

Logos

John uses Logos to begin His book about Jesus. In the first phrase of His Gospel, John wants you to know that Jesus is “Logos.”

Logos is where we get the word “Logic.” Logos means mind, thought, idea…

In the beginning was the Logos… In the Beginning was the thought… the idea… the plan…  From the very beginning Jesus has been the plan.

John 1:14 (NIV) The Word became flesh and made his dwelling among us. We have seen his glory, the glory of the one and only Son, who came from the Father, full of grace and truth.

The Same Jesus The Same Plan

The plan of God has always involved a lamb.

The Plan is a Lamb

When mankind sinned in the garden God’s plan for a lamb was revealed.

In Genesis a sacrificial lamb was required to cover the sins of an individual. In Exodus 12 a sacrificial lamb was required to cover the sins of a family.Later we see a single sacrificial lamb cover the sins of an entire nation.

God is showing us the plan for a single lamb whose blood will cover the individual, the family, the nation…The one day John the Baptist declared these words…

John 1:29 (NIV) The next day John saw Jesus coming toward him and said, “Look, the Lamb of God, who takes away the sin of the world!

The Lamb plan was never really about a lamb in and of itself…No!

The Plan is a Man

The plan is a Man who would lay down His life like a lamb…

Isaiah 53:7 (NIV) He was oppressed and afflicted, yet he did not open his mouth; he was led like a lamb to the slaughter, and as a sheep before its shearers is silent, so he did not open his mouth.

The plan of a single sacrificial lamb covering the sins of an individual, a family, a nation, and the entire world is fulfilled in Jesus Christ.

Jesus Christ is the Plan.  Jesus Christ is the Lamb.  Jesus Christ is the Man.

1 Timothy 2:5-6 (NIV) For there is one God and one mediator between God and mankind, the man Christ Jesus,  who gave himself as a ransom for all people. This has now been witnessed to at the proper time.

The same Jesus is the same “logos” plan of God.

But the plan doesn’t just end at the man Christ Jesus.

The Plan is people

God’s plan has always been to work within and have relationship with people.

He created people in the Garden:  A man & a woman. He begs Cain to avoid sin and have a good relationship…He walks with Enoch…He saves the entire world through Noah…He chooses Abram & Sarai and creates a covenant promise with them… Blesses the world through them...
