Who doesn't love this traditional south of the border dip? My mother's best friend currently resides in Mexico City and when I was younger I would travel there and visit her kids who were my age. I remember avocados on the table at every meal, and each diner would mash up his/her own guacamole tableside. In Mexico guac is made simply with avocado, lime, and salt, coarsely mashed together and used on quesadillas, on tortillas, and frankly consumed straight up as is. Whenever I make guac at home I add extra lime juice, and then the requisite salt and avocado. I also like to add cilantro, but nothing else. Simple simple simple. Nothing says summer quite like ceviche. The cool, citrus dish works as a light meal (especially on hot days when heavy digestion is out of the question), or as an appealing appetizer. The simplicity and ease with which you can assemble Catherine's Shrimp & Hearts of Palm Ceviche is particularly nice. Featuring Catherine McCord.

"It’s Africa-hot and you’re hungry for a little nosh… how about some potato skins? Um, gross. I know what you want. You want something crisp, bright and refreshing, that’ll keep you looking good in your bikini. Allow me to introduce you to your new favorite summer treat… it’s a little bit salty, a little bit sweet and totally yummy: Watermelon & feta skewers!"
This is the time of year that I get to use all those lovely berries that begin to appear everywhere; blueberries, raspberries, blackberries and strawberries. Although there's certainly nothing wrong with just serving a big bowl of lightly sugared berries on a warm summer evening, a simple berry cobbler that can be put together literally in less than 5 minutes is a favorite dessert to make.
The sweet and savory dish's name pretty much sums it up: It's super simple, features one of our favorite ingredients, and can be made for $10. Curry powder, granny smith apples, and Greek yogurt, lend a unique, bold taste to the easy recipe. Serve it over a bed of greens, on a whole grain bread, or as a wrap. You can't go wrong with this healthy, versatile salad.

David's amazing three-tier layer cake starts with a simple, ordinary store-bought cake. But, that's about the only thing ordinary about it. From there he builds with coconut custard, rum syrup, whipped cream and more. The result is a cake that looks as good as it tastes, and combines a party of sweet, spicy, creamy and rich flavors. Our favorite kind of party.

We may be all for convenience and simplicity at Good Bite, but we have a special place in our stomachs for food made with love. We feel wrong opening a package of prefab baked goods and welcoming them into our homes. We like to add a personalized touch to this part of the meal by constructing cookies, cakes and muffins with flour, sugar, butter and eggs from our own pantries. That's why we love this easy, from-scratch recipe for Vanilla Cake with Sour Cream-Chocolate Frosting brought to us by Deb. The uniquely delicious frosting trumps its store bought counterparts, and we're almost certain your partner, brother, mom or son might feel a little more loved when they cut into this fluffy yellow birthday cake.
This recipe is major. Who doesn't love donuts, especially Krispy Kremes? Here, the donuts are mixed with creme, eggs, and condensed milk, then baked to perfection and topped with an espresso cream to cut some of that richness. This is the most insane, sweet, creamy treat, sample at your own risk!
David Lawrence demonstrates a recipe by Jeanne Kelley of jeannekelleykitchen.com. Why bother buying one when you can make one that is so easy and delicious?
This cake is something between a soufflé and a dense chocolate brownie. And somewhere (in my estimation) between nirvana and heaven. If indeed there is such a place. If there is, and if I make it there, I want to eat this cake every single day.
