Patients who exhibit anxiety, depression, substance use or mood disorders, or obesity, can often have an underlying condition of ADHD (Attention Deficit Hyperactive Disorder). It is wise for these patients to get screened for ADHD. Conversely, ADHD patients and their providers should be on the look-out for these same symptoms, and perhaps treat them early on if advisable. These are known as comorbidities, or co-occurring symptoms. An 8-country European study among 17 medical centers is just concluding which documents these comorbidities and tests lifestyle changes to see what improvements are experienced.
