A year ago this week, then-Ohio House Speaker Larry Householder and four associates were arrested on federal racketeering charges in a $60 million bribery scheme tied to the passage of House Bill 6. That law provided a $1 billion bailout for a subsidiary of Akron-based FirstEnergy Corp. to shore up its aging nuclear and coal-fired plants.
