1. Seriously, I hated small talk.  A lot of people do yet, it’s not going away.  Over the years that I’ve had to do this because of my career or moving to a new location, I’ve changed my approach to this necessary step to getting to know each other.  I share with you one strategy I use today that makes small talk a bit more fun (for yourself).

Some say skip the small talk all together.  Find "your" people and there's no need for it.  Is that really your experience?  It wasn't mine.  Small talk, the initial getting to know someone, happens whether we like it or not.

It's either an awkward thing we fumble through because the participants aren't excited about it or we don't do it well.  There's, of course, another answer to making small talk something you can actually look forward to.  No, really!

Through my experiences with my career and moving locations, I've had to learn 'small talk'.  And it's not something we are born with.  On the contrary, I needed to figure out how to make it work for me.  In other words, how to make it enjoyable.  Because part of making small talk a success is the fact that you actually enjoy the conversation you are in, no matter how 'small' or 'big' the topic is.

Join me as I share with you techniques that I use today whenever I meet someone new and how that's worked out for me over the years!
