As COVID-19 cases surge in urban parts of South Florida, one zip code stands out from the rest. Immokalee, known for its rural farmworker community, reports the fifth highest COVID cases per zip code in the state of Florida. All of the other cities in the ten most affected zip codes are urban.
In this segment, I speak with leaders from Immokalee about how coronavirus has affected the community, why farmworkers are particularly vulnerable, what action has been taken and what more needs to be done.
