Went swimming today. Got in the pool for 15 minutes. Really nice. Brought an Acquajogger belt with me. Foam belt that wraps around your waist and allows you to move in the water. Keeps you afloat. For my routine did 4 laps. Each lap, half of the lap was doing a light jog, and then on the way back for the second half of the lap I'd flip on my back and just float. What felt really nice on my lower back was when I was in the water and the belt was pushing upward. Just a nice gentle upward lift. In Yoga they stress the importance of not crunching down on your spine or forcing, but allowing gravity to ground you and lift from that. It was a really good sensation and I'm glad I had that belt. Moving forward, when I get in the water, I'll try to mix that in a little more. Tomorrow I'll get in the gym. Looking forward to a good circuit. Very similar to Wednesday. Maybe a little more upper body emphasis to get my shoulders moving. Really work on the stability in my spine. Going into next week I should finish my final treatment at the chiropractor. Then hopefully rolling into February get to a point where I can be doing some light jogging and maybe a little light jumping and plyometric movements.
