22nd training session in the gym. Talked to my trainer about my lower back. He asked how it's feeling. Right now I'm on a treatment plan with the chiropractor. I'll do six total treatments over the next two weeks. Couple that with therapy. Then when I'm in the gym I'm going to keep progressing on movements that I'm comfortable with as long as they don't induce any pain or soreness that feels wrong. It's kind of a nice step back, but I feel like I'm still progressing in other areas. Having a trainer right now is really, really valuable. Having the motivation of someone that cares enough to work through some of that challenge. I know if I was doing this solo it'd be easy to justify I'm going to pause, I don't what to do because I'm in pain. I noticed doing the treatments and sticking at it, I'm feeling better. I'm moving better. It's encouraging to know what I've experienced in my back so far isn't some irreversible thing that is going to be a chronic injury. It really is the result of being a little out of balance. Getting to today's workout. I had two circuits. First circuit was four movements, four times through. Second circuit was two movements, two times through. The doozie was a spanish squat. Not sure why it's called that. You wrap a band around your legs and then that's wrapped around a pole and you sit down like you're on an imaginary chair. Then I was pulsing. Felt like forever. Probably like 30 seconds. That really got the heart going. I had a point in the workout I had to stop, catch my breath, kneel down. It was a combination of not eating enough. Not getting enough rest. I told my trainer I can't go anymore right now, I need to pause. It's funny, he had a little can of apple juice and I drank that. Got back up and felt better. In my mind I was like oh, maybe I'm done. But we kept going and I was fine. That was nice to have that trust with my trainer for him to know I was experiencing that, but not getting freaked out or alarmed by a little fatigue. Well, maybe a lot of fatigue. Tomorrow I'll get in the pool and get a lot of good movement in the water. Have a check-in with the chiropractor on Wednesday and go to the gym.
