Theme for today is recovery. Didn't go to the gym. Instead put the emphasis on my lower back. Actually scheduled an appointment for Wednesday morning to get in with a chiropractor. Just want more of an objective assessment of what I'm dealing with. The pain has improved a little bit, but it's still there if I move in a specific way. Some things that I did today: bathtub soak, stretched out for about 20 minutes combinations of pigeon pose and light torso bends, and then finishing with some icing throughout the day. 20 minute sessions. Making sure I'm moving in ways that aren't painful. It's interesting with a puppy. I did notice walking a dog on the leash is actually a really difficult thing to do when your back is tender. He doesn't pull too hard, but he's over 30lbs now. So if he does see something that gives a good tug. I can tell I was bracing. Combine that with the ice. It's weird how simple things like that get you to be unsteady. Where as a week ago didn't think anything of it. Again, on Wednesday, I'm going to get in, get an actual assessment of what's going on here. I'm actually scheduled to go in the gym on Wednesday. Anticipating if I do anything at all it will be a light active recovery. Nothing that would be high impact or putting a lot of pressure on the joints, jumping, or anything like that.
