16th training session in the gym. Went really well. Good warmup. Try to keep it around that 10 minute mark. Just break a good sweat. Make sure you're feeling good and prepped for the movements that you're doing. Even though I don't always know what I'm doing, there's a heavy emphasis on doing the jogs and making sure my legs are ready to work. First circuit that I did started with pulls in the rack. Think like a power clean snatch grip. It's wide. You're going straight up and driving for power and speed. Weight didn't get too heavy. Maybe 145lbs or something like that for 5 reps. Then the second movement in the first circuit was doing Russian box jumps. Not sure why it's called that. It's just a lateral movement. Similar to bounding that I did on Wednesday. Except you're on these boxes that are angled at a 45 degree and jumping laterally. You're going for height and distance. Have to keep it in check so that when you land you can rebound and stay explosive. Third movement that I did was taking a med ball, 25 lbs, being about 10 feet away from the wall and launching that into the wall. Using your hips and arm and driving all the way through. Second circuit was doing a kettle bell movement where I was doing a single arm lunge and then pressing the kettle bell up. I've never really done that. Super challenging. Not sure what weight it was. Think it was 20 kilograms. I'm more familiar with pounds. It was heavy enough to be challenging. Then finished with mixing in some upper body movements. Doing pushups on a slide board and chin-ups. Great workout. Feel really good this week. Like I was alluding to on Wednesday, starting to target recovery around my psoas muscle. I can explain some of that next week and see how that progresses. Going to enjoy the weekend and be back on Monday.
