15th training session in the gym. Overall went really well. A lot of explosive based movements. Think power cleans, mixed in med ball tosses. You have a 20lb med ball. You're just squatting down a little and driving straight up and launching that straight above you as high as you can. Mixed in single leg bounds. Alternating legs. Driving for distance and height. Have to find that balance between not overreaching and stretching too far, and not jumping straight up, but truly doing a bound. Like a deer bounding over a fence. Overall a fun workout. Tomorrow I'll get in the pool. Get some light movement going. Then Friday looking to finish this week on a strong note. My body right now, since I started training, I try to step on the scale, keep a food log, and do some basic checks to make sure that I'm meeting my needs outside of the gym. In just a month of training put on about 6-7 lbs. Some of that is fluctuation. I can tell I'm feeling pretty strong and good right now. Not too tight. Certainly want to continue working on loosening up and staying limber. Even tomorrow might do some targeted hip exercises and try to activity work at it. For as hard as I'm going in the gym, I'm taking that same intensity and approach to allowing my body to have the right environment to heal. I'll check in tomorrow after I go swimming.
