10th session in the gym. Started off at 6:30. Feeling great. Really like the rhythm of training at the same time each day. Being able to get a time slot from 6:30-7:30 in the morning makes it one less thing to think about. I like waking up, getting in the gym like this. Started with dynamic warmup. Broke a sweat. Right away first circuit was 5 different movements. Rep scheme is still pretty high. Most challenging movement by far, or that I felt right away, was a single leg weighted glute bridge on a bench. You roll your legs underneath the barbell. I had 95lbs on total on there. Then you raise yourself by putting your shoulders on the bench. Then you're doing that bridge motion and holding at the top. Coming down, touching lightly, then driving back up. Did 4 sets of 10 on that. Mixed in a second circuit doing some upper body and upper back work and balance exercises. Overall today was a great bang for you buck type of session. A lot of the movements I did didn't require a lot of movement but really focused on stabilizing. Tomorrow I'll get in the pool like usual. Try to do that over my lunch break again. Pretty excited, tomorrow I have an appointment with a registered dietician. I'm going to be experimenting with modifying how I eat. Putting an emphasis on a more plant-based approach. Currently, my history coming into this, I tend to be somebody that eats more plants than not. More nuts and seeds. I don't flat out avoid eating meat or processed foods. My preference is for homemade meals. This summer I had a garden which was awesome. Nothing really beats homemade food coming out of the garden. Then you prep that. Excited to work with a dietician and make sure I meet my nutritional needs as I continue to progress through the training.
