Fireflies: Recent Episodes

ONG Sanandome

As the stars melt from the infinite darkness, the fireflies dance with their light.

The feeling of darkness, is bound by memories dripping downward from the skyscraper's canopy.

Raices de la Machi, crecen de mi ser.

Synphonies of nature orchestrated primordially by life's footsteps Support this podcast: https://anchor.fm/ong-sanandome/support

This world is so divided? This poem is supposed to help the rich and the poor see the other sides of the coin.

As a single mother, I see the truth of how this country is run. The is a constant demand being made on mothers to choose between their divine right as a mother or an employee. The truth is it is impossible to live off of one persons income in this country. The hours are long and very little is made so that it leaves single mothers feeling guilty with either decision that is made.

Being in a relationship we have all had those late nights where we lay there listening to our loved ones either around the house or in bed around you, but few of us get to tune into the sweet feelings of babies growing within our body.

This poem is not mine but written by Kurtis Lamkin. The message that is carried throughout his poem is one I like to live by, and it is, that we care and notice what goes on around us but we don't do anything about it so we need to change that and help. My favorite line that he wrote in this poem is "we do what it takes to shake the snake, that coils around our humble lives" it creates a metaphorical visualization  in my mind.

I wrote this poem back in high school. Looking back I see my spirit has always spoken to me and showed me where to go. For those that don't know me, I am Jungle Cat. My metamorphosis happened when i journeyed to Peru and lived in the amazon jungle for 4 years right after college. Soon I will be heading back. Check back soon as i will launch a sequel to this poem, to express the sensation of converging with the jungle.
